This is a fantastic country song. One of my favorites. A little known Elvis gem. Blew me away the first time i heard it. It tells a story of a man waiting on a woman and finally gives up. You need to listen to it uninterrupted to do it justice. Starts slowly and softly and builds to an incredible finish. Showcases Elvis' incredible talents. King of Music, indeed!

Love watching you and your son. I grew up in Memphis and now live an hour from Graceland. My family and my husbands family are EP freaks. I have so many stories from my MIL meeting him at the bowling alley to my husbands uncle seeing EP drive thru the gates and he took off running up the driveway and got arrested. My son passed away in 2017 and 6 weeks before he passed, we went and saw EP on the big screen and his band and back up singers playing. I cherish that memory and the time with him. RIP EP, Lisa Marie and my sweet, sweet Austin. ❤

2 of Elvis' dogs made appearances in 2 of his movies. His Collie, Baba, was in Paradise, Hawaiian Style and one of his Great Danes, Brutus, was in Live A Little, Love A Little. I used to play Elvis for all 3 of my great-great-nephews when they were babies if they were fussy. They would instantly stop crying whenever I played Elvis or Dean Martin for them. Worked on my kids 40 years ago as well. Only with my kids it was on the cassette player not my phone. 😂

Ernest Tubb composed the music and Johnny Bond wrote the lyrics. Fun Fact: Glenn Campbell recorded this song at least three separate times. B.J. Thomas also recorded this song (1965) as did Slim Whitman (1970). Elvis recorded this song in RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee. "Tomorrow Never Comes" was part of a bigger recording session known as The Nashville Marathon that took place between June 4- 8, 1970. The recording sessions of June 7/8, 1970 happened between the hours of 6 p.m.- 9 p.m./ 10 p.m.- 1 a.m./ 1:30 a.m.- 4:30 a.m. The very first few seconds of the intro of Elvis's recording of "Tomorrow Never Comes" you can hear the last snippet of Elvis fooling around with Roy Orbison's "Running Scared". Roy Orbison & Elvis knew each other, going back to the 1950's. The two men had a mutual respect for one another and by all reports were friends. Elvis had gone on record saying that he thought Roy Orbison was his favorite male singer. Mahalia Jackson, whom Elvis also met during the filming of his movie "Change Of Habit", was reportedly one of his favorite female singers. As it is known by all Elvis fans, Elvis was inspired by a wide range of genres of music. During his 23 year career, he recorded songs spanning no less than 11 different genres of music. Absolutely! This song, like most of Elvis' songs, need to be watched & listened to w-very minimal stops. This song i continually recommend so people can really get a handle on what his voice was capable of. I wonder if this reactor picked up on what he did w-the syllables of words, how he went "up & down" w-them. I've watched him a few times but can't deal w-his multiple interruptions & long talking.
