Your analysis of "tore it open" to mean touring is pretty spot on, Alchemist and his friend, actor Scott Caan were a group called The Whooliganz, and they became part of The Soul Assassins, and they literally spent the early part of their career touring with Cypress Hill, House Of Pain and Funkdoobiest, legend has it that Alchemist used to get paid in weed for rolling B-Real's joints and blunts 😂😂
