My first impression was 'not again with the flow switch up and fast rapping'. Kinda tired of it and thought it wasn't a good fit for a Nas track. But it's grown on me 😁

Em's not ignoring the beat. He's actually doing a polyrhythm. For example, imagine doing a 3 beat pattern over 4 beat bars. In this scenario, the patterns would match up every 12 beats. The 3 beat pattern would sound out of sync (to the average ear), but it's not actually when our brains figure out that it can count both patterns at the same time. This is the way many drummers think, and being that Em makes beats, it's easy to see these concepts laid out visually on the computer. He's playing chess with rhythms, while the average listener is used to hearing checkers.

Em sends his entire verse to Nas. BUT Nas had every opportunity to extend his verse but chose not to for some reason. Big Sean even said that you can't even cut an Em verse because its so meshed together with the production, you change a tiny thing and it messes up the whole scheme. I hope Nas & Em make more music where they go back and forth.

he's not off beat or ignoring it AT ALL. i hate when people say this kinda thing. It's a polyrhythm wich is odd sequence over and even 4/4 beat that falls on beat every 12 note. Ask a drummer, it maybe sounds off, but it's an actual incredible hard technical to do, that only someone like Eminem that has been studying and improving his rap style for many years can do.

I think they both did great. Nas has this just effortless rapping ability and sounds smooth asf. His voice is iconic as well. He raps a bit more poetic I guess would be the word. And Eminem just kind of spazzes with the flow and finds crazy pockets and it’s just punchline after punchline. A couple of his line were a bit corny imo. But I liked it for the most part. Sometimes it ain’t all about what you are saying. It’s the way you are saying it. If you have the flow, cadence, delivery and multi syllable and internal rhymes, you can make things sound good.

Gotta react to The Weeknd's new tune 'Take My Breath' as well as some of KSI's tunes off of his album such as 'No Time (feat. Lil Durk)' and 'Lose (feat. Lil Wayne)' - two very solid tracks.
