Thank you for doing my request! As I said before, it’s my favourite song of hers due to the deep lyrics with so many metaphors and references. When she says “canvas” or “flayed woman” “bruises” “Gaugin” “Egon Schiele” “the naked woman standing” (and so many more lines) she means the two painters and their painting styles etc, she uses them to show ‘right and wrong’. It’s definitely a very intriguing song if nothing else Also, did you notice the lyrics of the chorus changing the first and second time? (1st time she sang the chorus was a bit different than the rest)

Hello Judeo, this staging looks simple yes, but it is not meaningless. The song can be taken from different angles, that of art, cut from art (Egon Schiele), breakup, and you haven't seen the clip so I'll let you watch it but the religion side is omnipresent. Everyone will give this song the meaning they want, some even see a message to their lifelong mentor: L. Boutonnat. In any case, Mylène was proud to have written this text and is one of her favorites. We find in this staging the religion side (angel and demon of the face) the love on the bodies and their violence in the images below towards the end. The throne is iconic, especially at Mylène. In the lights, we see the M of Mylène in a red light which is the color that has always dominated this song.

I think she had a little complex when she performed. she is thinking shes not young enymore. she didnt but her soul in that perfomance. her earlier versions are much better but I still love her forever :D

I think it’s the opposite actually, I absolutely love this preference because it looks like she’s angry, or resentful. She’s bitter that she was ‘left’ and the looks on her face tell it. She is playing a role in this song and she plays it to perfection. Also, the mix of this live version is very great in general
