As a former band kid with a white band, I can't tell you how excited we get to see these kids in the black band groups doing their thing. We know how hard it is to be coordinated enough to do what we're doing so to see people taking it up 10 notches and killing it is freaking awesome. Really inspirational and so much work.

Oh no! I been in a white band and it's worse when the black band goes first because after the black band perform the white band goes and people starts going to the concession stand. I'm half Asian/White, played trumpet, and ended up going to a predominately Black school. The marching band I was in was HBCU-inspired, and it was probably one of the most fun times I've ever had in my life.
