Never forget recording these off the Peel show and playing them non stop. These versions of We All Stand and 5-8-6 are wonderful, way better than the album versions. Too Late is a brilliant track too.

Recorded this session off radio when in England I n 1982. Turn The Heater On played loud on a great stereo is so powerful. Sensational!

In perfect harmony with each other. Ian in their hearts. Outstanding result under the watchful master John Peel!

Very early 80’s synth bands were brilliant, there was a certain atmosphere to the music, pretty much lost today sadly. I’m so glad I lived through this revolution mainly thanks to DJ’s like John Peel, thanks mate.

Good shout! Their cover of Turn the Heater On is my favourite NO recording ever (as much as I'm a huge fan of their own songs too). Gillian's achingly-sad synth line, Hooky's physical bass, Barney's scratchy dub guitar, Stephen's brilliant drumming, Barney's delay-laden singing, the Hannett-esque FX, those sad dreamy lyrics, plus the fact it was Ian Curtis' favourite song so a really touching gesture to make it their only cover...Perfection

Hardly. It was amongst the first batch of Peel Sessions to be released on vinyl whenever that was. Mid-80's. Anyway, I owned it for a couple of decades, with that terrible generic Peel Sessions sleeve.

@@lenatelle8105 exactly. It was the first ever Peel Sessions vinyl, which makes the record store day hyperbowl (sic) even sillier.

Great original of 586. It’s transformed over the years but the earlier versions always the best. Hooky does a great version live with The Light, if i am allowed to say that here.
