There is something distinctly, almost obscenely American that separated The Rev’s sound from the mostly Britpop Psych Shoegaze of the time, they had a raw edge that set them apart.

Saw them live with David Baker, he played the opening notes on a stand up piano before smashing it up with a scaffolding pole, the most intense feedback of any gig I've seen. They kicked him out and became so bland. oh what could of been

This bring me back memories of when I first played Lego My Ego almost 30 yrs ago and that WOW!!!!!!!!! is still resonating in my head. Fantastic Peel session. Unreal !
