What exactly are the Vic Firth Drumsticks, and how are they different from the typical American Classic drum sticks from Vic Firth? We'll answer this question, along with deeply looking at 6 pairs of these sticks for all aspects of their build quality, including: * how these specs of these sticks, compared to normal Vic Firth sticks and some competitors such as Vater and Promark * close up roll tests so you can see if the sticks are cut strait * weight matching tests * see how long it takes for them to chip * and will play some samples so you can hear how they sound compares to other brands, and see if they are pitch matched. We will also take a look at the price point of these sticks compare to standard Vic Firth sticks. Gear from this video: * Single pair of Vic Firth Terra 5AT: amzn.to/3WW0jA9 * 4 pairs of Vic Firth 5a: amzn.to/3VhG9zf *If you purchase through the above links, I'll make a tiny commission. That'll make me super happy, as I could buy more drums!*

Awesome review. Sticks made from hickory doesn’t last very long but sticks made from oak are a bit more durable. The problem with oak is that you will destroy your cymbals. Keep up the good work you’re doing.🤘

I bought a pair with the nylon tip and i think they look cool, have good balance, but theyre slippery just like the Fire grains. Im not a fan at all. My VF Novas and Grip sticks hold up better than these. Great review bro

My friend I love your in depth review but you’re giving some incorrect info: 1. If you go to say Sweetwater, the Terra 4 packs are the same or cheaper than an individual pair. And both individual and bundled terras are still cheaper than the standard sticks. Check it for yourself and do the math. You’ll see what I’m talking about. 2. Promark firegrains do not have stain or color “applied” to them. They are literally flame treated/hardened like baseball bats, hammers, guitar necks, etc. and it’s that process that gives it its color. Flame and the heat treating process is not uniform so the coloring will vary on firegrains.

Hi there, regarding the price of the Terra sticks, to clarify I wasn't saying there wasn't a savings on the bundle, but that the savings doesn't scale in the same way as the normal sticks. And when looking at guitar center, the price point for the 4 packs are in fact the same (as of today) between the two types of sticks (for 5a wood tips). 4 pack of Terra, $44.99 www.guitarcenter.com/Vic-Firth/American-Classic-Terra-Series-Value-4-Pack-5A-Wood-1500000399548.gc 4 pack of the normal sticks, $44.99: www.guitarcenter.com/Vic-Firth/Buy-3-Pair-5A-Drum-Sticks-Get-1-Pair-Free-5A-1274115062779.gc I know you mentioned sweetwater, but I couldn't quickly find the standard 4 pack for 5a wood tips there.

For the Firegrains, there is actually some coloring applied. I dug into this slightly when I reviewed those sticks. Here is the link, starting directly at the point where I talked about that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHjEhKuhj9CHfM0si=94Os6PO9Qd65etLW&t=534

Get the Nylon tipped Sticks. Last 3 times longer than the VF wood tip.

Unfortunately I don't like how nylon tips sound on my ride. :(

Sticks are $15 a pr. now days. They should be perfect.

Indeed. Perhaps there needs to be some improvement or manufacturing break through to get there...
