I don't see anything special about them, and this is not about liking or disliking them. They are even in KOF 14, meaning that the this upcoming dlc is going to recycle assets. So why choosing that tone of something so special in the official announcement?

Could be that Vice & Mature will act as one character, and the gameplay mechanic could be an active tag system exclusive to them, like the idea of a stance switch but with a different character. Or maybe they will act as Striker characters for each other

​@@dezraj340they were still in the afterlife but due to their connections to the haikashu(totally misspelt that sorry)they can exist in both the afterlife and appear in the mortal realm,which is how they appeared in KOF 13-14. This is definitely the ones from KOF 96 brought back to life

Some of those early designs look cool, but I think they really chose the best ones. I really like how they preserved Joe's original desciple, even if it's just on the lore. Unlike the other Garou 2 new characters, she was actually officially introduced before, on an official web novel prologue for KOFXII (back when it wasn't supposed to be just a dream match), so it would be weird to delete her from the story...And maybe she could join City of the Wolves as DLC some day?

Vox's second concept art looks like they took some inspiration from Dolvic from the original Garou 2, but now that Grant is confirmed dead, was kinda hoping he was gonna come back. Fingers crossed he will though.

Yeah, my problem with all of this story is the announcement, the choice of words to make the content sound like it's something much bigger than it really is. Secondly, it's just recycled assets from KOF 14... So does that mean it wasnt possible to add more "recycled chars"? At least two more. I know that the focus is FF but still we are talking about recycled assets here, that are easier to me than a brand new char (new model). Regardless I'm glad for the duo joining the game.

Snk should've went with their original idea of making Preecha a bad girl instead of changing her to your waifu nerf personality waifu that she is now because of fear of not being liked or bad impressions. I guess snk dont know Juri and Reina Mishima are among the most popular female characters in fighting games. Also those Vox Reaper Prototype images imo were really good i hope those come out as dlc costumes.

imagine S3 would exist after Special DLC, how awesome surprise it would be for 3 years old game. I would be down for that, I don't need KOFXVI rn, they could release new FF and AoF and action rpg SamSho (sounds too awesome to be real), which will also bring new generation of players. My personal wish is still the same Oswald and Shen Woo for KOFXV.

I'm relieved Mature and Vice made it, but it's ridiculous how they dumped Kensou, who only skipped 2003, over fucking Najd. What a waste. I wanted Adel like most people but I would've been happy with at least Mature, Vice and Kensou on what turned out to be the best KoF yet. Oh well.

It really looks like with all the possibilities they had they ended up going down the least interesting path with Preecha's design, very out of touch with Fatal Fury sensibilities: she looks like the nuSNK version of DOA6's Nico, probably the lamest character Team Ninja ever made, a design already exhausted five years ago. In terms of moveset she might be amazing, but I suspect many will outright skip her simply because of her reddit nerd fantasy looks, so having alternate skins available to choose from like some of the cool designs they have shown in the panel would go a long way to help the game. Perhaps I'm wrong and she ends up being very popular, which would be very sad for the the future aesthetics of the series, but I reckon they really have misread their market with that one. Anyhow, hoping to see Li Xiangfei and Franco Bash revealed later today...

KOF XV is a good online rn. There is a decent amount of players currently playing XV. But yeah KOF XV on day 1 with online was a huge problem and hard to find matches. That's not gonna happen with COTW this time 🙏
