Dear Millennials, What's with all the idiotic comments geared towards Hamiltons videos. Look him up and you'll learn that he's a highly qualified science journalist and I would be willing to wager that he knows just as much about the effects of psychoactive chemicals on the human brain as Hoffman, Leary or even Thompson. Simply judging someone's work and career based on their appearance alone is ridiculously childish. I understand Hamilton's field of study falls outside of society's perceived norm, but give him a break. Trying to put him down by saying, "he's skinny" or "his voice is creepy" is some kindergarten level school of thought. Consider being open minded and practicing tolerance towards thoughts or experiences outside your own limited knowledge and maybe, just maybe you'll learn something new, find employment and move out of Mom and Dad's basement.

Too much filler...this could have been done in 1 part....don't need to see him driving, showering, blabbering...get to the point.
@NickCorreia910 жыл бұрын
he never went in to explain any of his floats in depth, this entire series was pretty uninformative on the experience one has during a float.
@caitfox39410 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I kept waiting for him to go more in depth about his experiences and it just didn't happen. Also, not in the least bit bashing weed, but I feel like he should have done the first float sober as a sort of basis for what they can potentially be without anything else involved. You taste your food, then you salt and pepper it.
@WickedArtist46210 жыл бұрын
Caitlin Fox Completely agree! This person (this show) made no attempt to present this subject in an informative and educational way. This was simply drug-culture experimenting with something else to enhance drug-experiences. This wasn't about sensory deprivation chambers and what effects they can have on a person. This was about the personal quest of some hip elitist narcissist to feel a new high, then wax poetic about it as if the experience was meant to make him a better person.

It's probably bc he's so burnt from all the drugs. He needs a break. He will be back to where he needs to be...
@Kaiphini6 жыл бұрын
That's because it's a very personal experience. You are literally left alone with your own consciousness. Tbh I don't know how he could have gone into more detail about it. It's like trying to explain a psychedelic experience to someone who has never done it. It's something you have to experience for yourself

As long as every mind is unique, anything more than the information that he presented us would be essentially useless.

There has never been a more pretentious hipster breakfast. Fact.
@collegoflustandfear9 жыл бұрын
HowlsFury I know what a hipster is. They the people who wrote poetry and did heroin in the 50s. They exist in their current form as upper middle class arrogant young kids who all look like each other but call anybody who looks different or listens to different music corporate sellouts, even though they all use apple products and drink starbucks coffee. And they are not related to the OG beat.

1st thing that came to my mind was the 1980 movie Altered States (with William Hurt) " A Harvard scientist conducts experiments on himself with a hallucinatory drug and an isolation chamber that may be causing him to regress genetically." One of the most bizarre movies I've ever.watched . Good little documentary

That is something that I would never do... I have gotten an ear infection (Swimmer's Ear Infection), so far 3 times in my life; Just from showering. The sensation of the water line of the floatation tank getting inside my ear would drive me nuts, and wearing earplugs that would make me hear my heart inside my head works make me jump out of the tank.

Which I think only works in the long run if he'd jump into a tank every day and repeats his mantra. Unfortunetly a couple hours of ideal thought constelation wont beat the strong wires of inner fears. And why would he not want emotions to interfer with his actions, that defines us as humans and makes life interesting.

seems boulder is where i need to head for a while. so much positive going on their it may help me n this deep black whole of depression my life has spiraled into n figured it would eventually past has kept me thinkin it would happen on its own if i just kept being patient..
@GregHuston229 жыл бұрын
+Brad Rosser I live & work in Boulder, there is some cool stuff here that can help you; but you might find what you need where you live now. I've floated at Isolate Float Center, meditate at the Shambhala center and am beginning Yoga at the Adi Shakti center, to help me with depression I've battled for a long time. The float tank is cool but Mediation and Yoga have been far more influential in lifting my spirit (and I can live anywhere to do it, we just have more people in to it here). I'd say begin your path where you live now rather than just packing it up and heading to Boulder (unless you live in Lincoln NE or some other horrid place), because you may get here and find that employment opportunities aren't that great and rent/housing is very expensive. A friend of mine left her Job in Worcester Ma because "the place just spoke to her", and while the recreation opportunities and spiritual healing she's doing at the Boulder Psychic Institute are beneficial and far greater than in Worcester; the work she does doesn't pay as much here and she has to rent a room vs having her own apartment (in Longmont to boot).
