This is a pretty common joke with extreme sport instructors. Skydiving instructors are notorious for saying stuff like, it's ok if you die because I already got paid. It's just dark humor and entirely harmless. The goal is to drive up your anticipation so that you feel a bigger rush of adrenaline. These people are extremely safety conscious. Any injuries or deaths are bad for the entire sport and none of them want that to happen. They know their gear inside out and they know the safety stuff inside out.

Paraglider here. Claude seems like a good, safe pilot. Kit looks clean and he’s very through walking to different take-offs to find the best one. I don’t think the one-star reviews understood things, we play it as safe as we can and sometimes that involves more time or, gasp, walking in or out. I also loved his little point about the crow, all good paragliding pilots love birds and their behaviour. I think Claude said it best; some people should go to Disneyland.

As a paraglider myself I can tell a lot of these reviews are from people who have little understanding of the sport. It is completely weather dependent, and the pilot has little control if a flight needs to be canceled due to conditions, also it is nothing like base jumping and far safer. As for the complaints about landing off beach, depending on the conditions you can get caught in sink and experience forced descents through no fault of the pilot, as long as the landing is safe that's no reason for a bad review. However, He should probably do a better job briefing people on these possibilities and have clear policies about refunds etc in place.

The several times I have witnessed him and his students, I was amazed at how undisciplined and unsafe the activities were. I have seen a crash or unsafe event each time. He and anyone familiar with the site knows that heavy west winds can be very dangerous and a pilot can easily rotor out in that exact spot and get whacked. I have no idea how experienced this pilot was, but he should not have been flying (especially alone) if he was a new student of Fiset's, and especially in those conditions. @@JasonTriple7 In skydiving (Not sure about paragliding), there is something called tandem jumps which basically means you are attached to an instructor while being taught the basics and core mechanics of parachutes and skydiving in general. You also have ground school where you get to get comfortable with your tools and skills that you need to remember while skydiving. I suppose learning skills in paragliding is very similar for skydiving. So I guess the moral of my explanation is that If you do your research and have good instructors, part of your fear will go away because you know you will be in control while flying since you learned the basic skills. Its completely rational to have fear, but the fun you will have sure as heck will outweigh your fear. I hope you enjoy the paragliding hobby if you decide to go into it. Good luck man! :)

@@nigel1823 to my understanding, it depends on the vice reporter and crew,, but i'm pretty sure that taji fills them in that it's a show for vice where they review yelp businesses that have notoriously or generally large amounts of 1-star reviews, and give them an outlet to redeem themselves against said reviews.

Keep doing these episodes, They’re my favorite to watch on Vice tbh

He's just an odd dude and seems misunderstood somewhat ....lot of the those reviews sounded like people that showed up not understanding what paragliding is exactly.Arm chair safety experts
@billyp24652 жыл бұрын
The whole paragliding community hates him. And he's been banned from multiple places and has ruined multiple sites. Some actual safety expects think he is a menace, including the people who issue licenses. Licenses he does not have anymore.

The difference between a Rich person and a Poor person is how they use their time. Your Future is created by what you do Today not your Tomorrow.

The rich see an economic crisis as a garage sale and also the rich stay rich by investing and diversifying their portfolio with stock, crypto currency investment which is the wisest thing every individual need to do and it is really profitable.

You are right about that do you mind sharing with me how to get intouch with Mrs Amy Robinette. I have little to no knowledge about crypto currencies and I have seen the rise from 100 USD to over 50k USD in the last few years.

God bless Taji. Man is doing God's work bringing content like this to the masses. Props to the teams behind all this too. Without the both of em, none of this beautiful work would ever come to fruition.

I completely agree with Claude -so many people are used being waited on and coddled while on holidays. Youre not at a resort lining up to ride a banana boat, you’re jumping off a cliff. An instructor who is professional and courteous and delivers on experience is all you could hope for. Because he didn’t act like a servant or like a tour bus guide, he gets slated
