Can’t believe this car is still here. I built that car around 1994-95 for a guy named Frank Fredrick Also know as Agent Orange. He was in Vietnam when they sprayed agent orange to kill all of the foliage. He was heavy into the Pow/Mia movement. I worked on front clip for a week modifying ( cheating it up) so it would go around the corner by itself almost. It was run in the street stock class Headers, slicks, locked rear ended and under slung bars under rear ended to take the flex out of chassis. Had to watch video closely to make sure it was one of my builds. Thanks for bringing it back. Signed: Clyde Oran, Oran’s Garage, OranBilt

I don’t know how to express what I feel watching that old race car go around it’s home track. Close to 60 years ago I spent several weekends for a few summers working in the pits for a friend. He raced on local Northern Minnesota tracks and did quite well. Though I’d always had a fondness for helping my Dad work on cars it was my time with those old circle track cars that developed my love for uncorked exhaust and the smell of those hot greasy engines. Over the years I’ve always wished I could hang out in that environment again for just a few hours. To be in the pits with the sweat, heat, smells, smoke and dust while wrenching on some old wreck that should have been left where it was found is something not easily forgotten. I remember Dad calling them jalopy races. All the way back to when I was 4 years old in 1954 I can remember what some of those old cars looked like. I remember the old Ford coupes from the 1930’s with their flat head V8s. The Hudsons that looked like big old turtles that couldn’t be rolled over. Their flathead straight eights sounded to me like airplane engines. These old race cars have always been somewhere close by. Tonight I watched Derek wake up that old Camaro. I watched James take it for a couple laps and it felt like something inside of me was saying “hey look, the old car is tired and limping but it’s still making a showing! It’s standing proud once again.” Once again it was in the wind with the checkered flag waving over it. Definitely the most glorious car on the track. Thank you Derek!

Very well said Mike, I could picture you there working in the pits, just by your description. I had the same experience as a teenager helping a local guy/family friend work on his race car during the weekdays to get things fixed from the previous weekend and ready to go for Friday night. He would always let me load & unload the car on the trailer & even "pack the track" when the track was wet before the night started, the track officials would have some of the cars come out on the track and drive around for a handful of laps to help dry it out. We were a very small team, so if the driver got a flat in a race & came in for a replacement, it was up to me to jack up the car, remove the flat tire & replace it with a new one. Always made me feel like I was in Nascar changing a tire for a big name driver, All though it was measured in Minutes rather than a few seconds, When i would drop the jack, it would Always be the highlight of my night! Some of the best memories that I still remember and think of fondly, this time of year especially...

I told my mom that someone backed into me. If you flipped the air filter over you could increase the horsepower of the 455 by at least 50hp. As I recall, she didn't corner well, hence the bumper back-up damage. My mom filed a claim with her insurance. Her claim was rejected and she never let me use her car for dating again. Another awesome video derick. Bein a retired dirt track racer it is always awesome to see an old circle track car brung back to life again and even to see it run laps on it's home track is a rare blessin.

This is the 1st vice grip garage video I've watched. The guy is a riot and a true mechanic. Very cool to see you give that old stock car your time and knowledge even cooler to see James skid it around the pad!

Absolutely some of the best content on the interwebs. Thanks for bringing so many smiles to so many faces. Always above and beyond. Who knows how long that project would have sat without being tinkered with. It's motivational. Cheers for sharing the fun with us.

When I’m all caught up, I scroll through for something that YT says I haven’t watched. Yet often I find myself watching and thinking I’ve been here before, but I still keep watching. A few years ago I watched, but didn’t have an account to keep track. Anyway I’m watching and loving it. I’ve been to the FF and love everything about it, especially the history of it being the Desoto race track long before I lived an hour away.

The tires are the icing on the cake! I love how history is being preserved. A guy needs to get his butt to the Freedom Factory, fellers... AND fellets.

I gotta say, a guy could get addicted to this content. I'm a fairly new fan of your channel and I think it has become one of my favorites. Your personality is perfect. So laid back and fun. So that's good. I don't know, I'll probably just go ahead and keep binge watching every episode and a guy can look forward to new content also. Anyway, awesome show!
