I dont think they magically got their integrity back. I think theyre probably pulling at heart strings as you probably feel a certain way about the war going on. I think its probably propaganda made to make us feel a certain way lol. You just gotta take things with a grain of salt and understand theyre still bad journalists at vice making things to try and sway thoughts of younger people.

Yeah. Vice News has been doing good reporting for years even if they're often clearly from a left wing perspective. I think a lot of these comments are just from people who think any story critical of conservatives or right wing politics is "fake news" even if its just as accurate as their less political content. Also, VIce never "went woke" they've been "woke" forever, long before it was repurposed as a meaningless snarl word. And going broke isn't really a thing, "woke" corporations do it because its profitable. If it was actually costing them money then movie studios, tech companies, big brands, etc wouldn't be doing it -- some individuals in the company might care, but as a whole corporations are basically uncaring automatons driven by profit and can't actually give a damn about social issues outside of whether it can make them money: its performative. If pandering to bigots made them more money, the abstract forces of profit motive animating the company would lead to the firing of anyone being "woke" and it would pander to bigots instead, just look at most of the 20th century. But culture, society changes and its now unprofitable. @@lukegaming86

I swear every other video I hear people saying this is the old vice I missed, but to me their documentaries about foreign conflicts and war zones has always been consistently good. Sure they dabbled in weird videos about influencers in LA, but none of their serious reporters associate with their buzzfeed style videos. An organization like vice has many styles and fields of reporting without much overlap, so that’s why quality can vary so severely.

Do you remember when Russia first invaded Crimea that Simon guy had like a 70-80 part documentary series on the conflict ?? And then he was himself kidnapped because the Russians saw it . That was 2014 ish . Warlords of Liberia . All these are old classic documentaries . Even why we fight about the afghan war that only shows the ANA getting high while usa troops are like wtf is even going on. Now a days it’s like , why is white milk racist ? Why is Trump the biggest threat to McDonald’s ? Why does Mitch McConnell look like a turtle ? The only way you can truly believe this is if you weren’t acrually around in Vices golden age . Because if you were you’d know that 80% of what they put out is junk compared to back then. Why do you think they went bankrupt ? They built their media empire on these types or documentaries and when it changed so did the value of the company. THEY WENT BANKRUPT FOR CHRIST SAKE

This is a traditional symbol of Ukrainians and some other ethnic groups, which for a long time was the exclusive attribute of priests. And only later it was massively used as a pagan sign to help people survive hard times. That is why in Ukraine it is used as a talisman, not as a Nazi symbol, especially since there are almost no problems with Nazism in Ukraine and they are much less than in many other countries

Just look at this way man. The new vice, as you probably have in your head, exists because of a simple fact: no one really pays for journalism anymore. If say, everyone that enjoyed Vice payed $10-20 a month, they could focus on just this material. But because no wants to pay, they have to make tons of clickbaity content that someone like you probably call woke. The clicks then let Vice charge advertisers the money they need to produce pieces like this. They still out stuff like this, never stopped. Just keep in mind that your unwillingness to pay along with most other ppl is why Vice needs to make way more trash than treasure in order to still try to stay afloat.

What are you talking about? They literally embedded for a time with the "Russian Instructors" (Wagner) in CAR. You can see they were speaking with head of operations there and the deception/misdirection they were using to hide the crimes they had allegedly committed. Obviously there was anonymity with some of the people speaking out as they rightfully feared for their wellbeing had their claims been attributed to their names. Regardless, you also saw the lawyer who spoke out directly to the leader's face, and he was quick to take back his words after some further questioning.

I agree with what you are saying about them not being a traditional PMC group. They are basically a shadow group that Putin could use to progress and protect Russian interests. By calling themselves PMC’s, if they mess up Russia is not held accountable because they are not part of the Russian military. They do 100% of Putin’s bidding. They are basically another arm of the Russian government that can project plausible deniability. But I must disagree that they are somehow similar to the French Foreign Legion. The Legion is under direct command of the French military. Their existence is acknowledged. Their missions are insanely dangerous but at the end of the day they are a soldier in the French military. Wagner is not considered to be part of the Russian military.

Am I the only one thinking this did more to show the Russians and Wagner are helping Africa. I'm kinda embarrassed for the reporter and got the sense half of the people she interviewed were dumbfounded at how stupid her questions were. Seemed like they wanted to see someone honestly wrestle with the ideas of how challenging it is to be an African Government under attack from rebels overthrowing the gov and faced with the choice of no support from the West or Russian support. Every single question ignored the the answer given prior and I'm positvive they won't release the long form interview because it will tell another story. A great opportunity to educate people on the real topic and it's thrown away to push a dumbed down version what VICE wants you to see. I am no way going to say they are innocent but can we all just admit this is getting so heavily skewed that there is no room for any honest conversation? Misunderstanding the other side is a good way to end up at war.

Mad respect to Vitaliy. How much patience it take to listen blind accusations with out any proof and stay calm. All interview made up from short cuts, no topick fully described. The fact that we get free videos from VICE News on KZbin is priceless; keeping the education and knowledge alive 🙏🙏🙏 By the way, may I also remind you the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions. Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shocking sad truth. 😔 In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. Notorious global cardinal crimes the Christian West has committed, and benefited a great deals, such as Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is notorious Colonization still lingering on, may I ask? 😔

When Russia invaded Afghanistan they were dropping toys and candy with small explosives attached. The explosive charge was small enough that it would just maim the child that picked it up. The goal was to take an adult out of the fight to take care of the injured child. They are great folks, aren't they.

A little late on the info there VICE, Wagner is combat ineffective at this point, it's barely it's own unit as they've been folded into the Russian Army ever since Prigozhin & Co. thought they were invincible to Putin. Wagner is kaput, at best belligerents in Sudan and Syria, at worst just more cannonfodder for Ukranian drones and remote-controlled DShK turrets

I agree with most of that, but It's not much of a concern that they just released this. I'm just glad they did. They've probably been working on polishing this for release for awhile. And think about the significant events that happened towards the tail end of it. Seizing Rostov on Don, The road trip towards Moscow, the assassination of Prigozhin (and much of the Wagner leadership) with the downing of his Jet. These were all disparate events, happening over the course of weeks/months. Things to be added in. But you were right about what you said about the state of Wagner, now, for sure. 👍

I know this is a grave, grim subject. Nevertheless, the man interviewed, a Ukrainian capture from Wagner group is hot af. I hope all these men, on both sides, have some sort of outcome that DOESN'T involve anyone dying OR being further demoralized as a result of just trying to survive, have something they are able to call a life. God be with you all. War is such a sickening, constant condition these days. I pray for you all.

The quality of Wagner mercenaries right now is about on par with a Boy Scouts with assault weapons. About 1 percent are well trained proper military with fighting and leadership skills on a level capable of winning a modern battle. These skilled soldiers and special forces rarely go into the front lines for combat. If you took any trained special forces team from any NATO member country and with a good plan in place, that one team could go in and take out 30 times the number of Wagner mercenaries. If you took all of the NATO countries special force groups, with proper air support and intelligence, they could take out everything Wagner throws at them. I am confident that after the first blitz and elimination, a majority of the Wagner mercenaries which came out of the prison system, would be surrendering and claiming amnesty and expatriation from Russia.

The UN special forces are restrained by the need to follow the rule of law, in lawless countries, that will not work. Hence why Wagner with their amateurish ways will win because they don’t follow rules
