I think the reason Aaron lost was because he tried doing it all on his own. It's Admirable but Joe was working with other top fighters, people he considers friends and family who are constantly forcing him to get better. It isn't just about finding the drive within yourself to fight, it's about ultimately accepting that you are only going to get so good on your own. Your team and family is what is gonna push yourself past your own limits and fears because you are no longer fighting for just you; you're fighting for something bigger than yourself.

@karatechris6610
@karatechris6610 6 жыл бұрын
What I would say is this, you get different kinds of trainers. Those who train alongside their fighters, or maybe in between the classes, and those who keep fit but are imparting their knowledge. Clearly Aaron was the latter, especially for the fact that Joe was the one who initiated the fight. You just have to look at their bodies in the video. He took it because he was a proud warrior but obviously hadn't been training to fight. My point being is, just because you get out of fighting shape doesn't mean you don't know how to teach how to fight. Bragging rights for sure, but if I was him I would have asked for more training time and gone out to Thailand for 6 weeks to get properly ready. Anyway, respect to both guys. They both look knowledgeable and Joe was cool about it.

Wow, I'm glad you guys like and rehearse. The struggle that has taken place since ancient times. I practiced since childhood. Because most children in Thailand are taught martial arts from adults. I know this was a few years back, but don't take these comments serious. Anybody talking shit has never trained muay thai in his life, and would go cry to their mommy if they ate one kick from either of them. They are both very good at muay thai, only trained under Aaron for a little, but I remember seeing him kick the bag, shit was scary.

Seems like the most difficult thing for "western" fighters to take from TRUE Muay Thai is that there is no ego involved..... you train hard... and sometimes you win... and sometimes you lose.... that's the game.
@spikeboy101
@spikeboy101 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Zero ego in true muay thai. That's why they can train you so hard, throw you down, be hard on you, and you know that's just how it is and you get back up. Losing is a universal theme, it's not personal. Zero ego makes you lose and unaffected at all, unbreakable.

It is common and almost custom in Thailand that if one of the fighters know they lost, they pay their respects and go straight to the locker. It's not seen as anything bad. Also if it's the last round and one of the fighters know they lost, the loser makes it known to their opponent that they wont fight and both just circle around and don't throw any shots. Also not disrespectful.

2 years and a half of muay thai training? what went wrong man? Now I'm thinking if I'm going to push through bangkok muay thai training. Taekwondo since I was 5 is not enough. I think I should stay in philippines and learn more boxing, kick boxing and bjj. and engage in local fight. I'm maybe at 30 but still have the spirit to train and fight. I'm going to die anyway. Somehow I enjoy my life doing the things that I love.

*Some facts about Kru Muay Association* The Kru Muay Association originated from the separation of the amateur Muay Thai from the professional Muay Thai. This division pursued the goal to have Muay Thai recognized as an Olympic discipline by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). A project that has not been successful until today. The officials of professional Muay Thai would like to have nothing to do with Kru Muay. For them this club is only a necessary evil. If you take a closer look, you will notice that all the so-called traditional teachers of the Kru Muay Thai Association have simply appointed each other as teachers and are now worshipped by wealthy foreigners once a year. The whole association is very political, but has less fighting competence than an average boxer in Rajadamnern Stadium or a Buakauw (who is a Cambodian and not a Thai by the way). Despite comprehensive state support, the Kru Muay Association still has no coherent teaching concept for traditional Muay Boran and Muay Thai is still not Olympic.
