I after using Yesman to beat the game, then put my efforts into the Securitron MarkIII operating system, the next evolution necessary to New Vegas’s future. Every Securitron now has Fisto functionality, Sin City is about to heat up, and those legion boys in their skirts and that furry are about to find out.

I love fallout games in general, but i also feel most people who enjoy X game is because of mods, which is understandable, but to me, i can play new vegas full vanilla and still enjoy the living hell out of it, i beat it in my 360 like 40 times and on pc like 40 more and each run, i find something new i had no idea, hell 3 months ago i discovered a deathclaw area around the edge of the map and i was amaze by it, dialogs I've never heard and situations that always makes me smile, there's something S.P.E.C.I.A.L about new vegas and i will always love thia game.

4:05 "you can now go and do whatever you want to do" mm hmm I bet. Solid video. I enjoyed the discussion of the factions. Most games split factions into 2 simple groups: autocrats and rebels. These ones are split by Past, Present and Future. It's refreshing. Also, I would totally join the robot one. The others seem like they smell bad.

Love the analysis of the choices one makes and what it means to choose any faction, knowing all of them suck. In my first playthrough, I *thoroughly* explored the wastes and did everything I could, and in the end... I couldn't bring myself to side with any of them. The Legion offered safety and relative safety at the cost of your freedoms and morality, and all in the backing of a single figure that is both fallible and mortal, and actively dying at that. The NCR is... well, I had to hand it to them, they were exactly what they set out to be: The flawed, broken, and inherently unfair systems of the old world governments that eventually led to its ultimate destruction. It almost pains me to admit that Mr. House is likely to be the most stable option of the three, but that's only because he doesn't aim to protect the entire Mojave, just the Vegas region (if that, we see how bad Freeside is), and he is willing to sacrifice anyone and anything to ensure he and his own stays safe. And yeah, he says he doesn't care to abuse anyone, but what guarantees that? What if he decided to change his mind? What could even stop him? He's the man of tomorrow, but he's still living in the past. Him ruling would mean that the great majority of the Mojave is going to stay the same (or get worse without NCR support), while the few that stick with him will have their every need met in exchange for any kind of autonomy for themselves stripped away. In the end, I ended up choosing Yes Man, not because I thought I could do better, but because I knew I could offer the people of the Mojave the one thing no other leader could give them: Freedom. With all the positives and negatives that it would entail. Free to live, free to die, free to kill, free to save, free to love, free to hate. Complete and absolute freedom, abject from any morality except the individual's. You live or die by your own strengths and weaknesses. You're completely free, and so is everyone else. Adapt or perish, simple as that. It might be cruel, but to me, it seemed to be the most fair at the time. Besides, nothing stops people from banding together and make or reinforce cities. You are free to do that. You are free to do *anything*. That was the point. I was just there to make sure that other factions wouldn't try and subjugate you, but you lot are free to do anything you want. Perhaps the brutal order of the Legion, the cold control of House, or the messy benevolence of the NCR might be preferable, safer. But Freedom was never meant to match with order. Anarchy and Chaos for all. I'll deal with the big leagues, but you just sort yourselves out. Anyway, video was awesome! And definitely scratched something in my brain, which led to this long ass comment shbshbsvbs Keep up the good work!

One of my favourite nuances with the game is the factions delivery of their promises. The NCR, much like the society it emulates, fails to deliver the promised security whilst still demanding its tithe, quarry junction, the NCRCF and Primm, Nipton, and the Mojave Outpost all being examples of the NCR failing to deliver the security and structure that it promised, to the point where the NCR's Best (And seemingly only) route into the Mojave is on lockdown until you arrive. Furthermore they are quite permissive as long as it benefits them, look at the Van Graffs. The Legion fullfil their promises extremely well, providing absolute security in their lands as you can here from the trader in Caesars camp, their steps away from reliance on old world medicine has resulted in developing the healing powder which, whilst not as efficiant as stimpacks, is renewable, and they maintain a strong military force that, whilst often characterised by the focus on melee weapons, will still use the best equipment available (those anti-material rifles on hoover damn are no joke). But this comes witht eh cost of severity and a lack of self reflection, which would be a huge advantage to them and, in the case of medical technology especally, would likely make them indestructable. Mr House with his ambitons has already proved himself successful in his aims prewar. And now with an avatar in the form of the courier, can more directly interact with the world and shape it to his will. The problem is with the bredth of his prosperity that he will bring. I have no doubt that his whole plan of creating colony ships in the next century or two will happen, but they will not have many occupants. His care is soley for the strip and hoover dam, and he will damn the rest of the mojave for that. Look at freeside, and the hostility he treats those unable to pass a credit check. As an exemplar of capitalism, he also presents the issues with it, monopolies and narcissim in those at the top. And it is highly likely that when the courier gets too old, too popular or just outlives his usefulness, he will be disposed of. And Mr House likely opens up the presidential suite to your companions to control them too. Helios ones options for where to send the power are very good metaphores for the factions. Strip = Houses interests McCarren = NCR Archemides = Legion There are strong arguments that can be made for each. and given how fleshed out and deep each faction is, imagine if obsedian had more than 18 months, could fully flesh out the legion, and fixx the bugs. Probably best they didnt as I doubt any game would ever compare.

I love how thoughtful you are about topics and think it would be great to hear from you!
@theveteransergeant4 ай бұрын
I think my favorite part of the Caesar character is just how flawed and incomplete his understanding of Rome, the historical Caesar, Hegel, and philosophy in general is. He doesn't actually understand any of those topics, and has twisted them to support his own cognitive biases. There's no surprise he loves Hegel and the lord-bondsman dialectic. He's a slave master. But Caesar clearly never considered the actual philosophical underpinnings to the Hegelian Dialectic and just interpreted the parts he liked literally. Not unlike Mussolini and the Nazis picked the parts of Nietzsche they liked when forming the basis of fascism and Nazism. He clearly read how Caesar handled the Atuatuci tribe in Gaul, and interpreted that as Caesar's strength, and saw Caesar's mercy towards many of his enemies as his weakness, because of how the Optimates like Cicero and Cato used it to assassinate him. But he fails to make the connection that Caesar was not Rome, nor was he responsible for its rise or its strengths. The Romans were a culture of learning and assimilation, not just subjection and violence. By 300BC, the Romans had aqueducts supplying running water to their largest settlements. By Historical Caesar's time, their understanding of engineering had progressed to the point that their aqueducts were now miles longer, with working cisterns and the ability to carry water around, and even over large hills and across valleys. Caesar's Legion in Fallout has no accomplishments, just conquests. The irony, of course, being that Caesar studied with the Followers of the Apocalypse, but failed to learn the most important lesson of Rome from them: that he needed people like them to truly master the wasteland, not just the might of his armies. It's why he cannot ever actually accomplish any of his goals, and the Legion will die with him. Because while the successors of Julius Caesar has the infrastructure of Rome to return to after their civil war, the successor of Fallout Caesar will have nothing other than the finished remains of the armies after they inevitably fall into a civil war without Caesar's force of personality. There is a definite intentionality to contrasting the (New California) Republic against the rise of Caesar's Legion. Fallout Caesar is a well-read sociopath spouting polished nonsense to justify his means, to an audience of poorly educated and indoctrinated tribals and wastelanders who only understand the ends. It's why all of the endings for FNV where the most people prosper require the NCR to win. If you choose hubris (Yes Man), authoritarianism (House), or sociopathic fascism (Legion), the result is suffering and/or death for some or all of the residents of the Mojave. Even Arcade, who spends the whole game advocating for an independent Vegas, admits in his own ending (if you choose Yes Man) that he was wrong, as the Followers in Freeside are overwhelmed by the breakdown of social order in the outskirts.
@ViciousTNT4 ай бұрын
Well said 🙌 The point that his audience is uneducated plays a big role in his version of the Roman empire. Original Roman ideals need to be simplified and distorted to be comprehensible to his audience.

I don't like the show. its bad. I don't like how bethesda has butchered the ip. I don't like how bethesda has retconned the ip (and their own original ip's). Everytime I say fallout 4 and 3 are mediocre games with plot holes and poor writing I get gaslit by my irl friends. I just play stalker instead if I want a 3d fallout-ish game. I play CDDA or zomboid if I want to make a blank slate facing the apocalypse. I play crpgs like arcanum just to rinse my mouth from the pisswater bethesda sells.
