@@aQuestionator It’s not about if they are real or not. Vickers Light ontop of looking very similar have pretty much the exact same playstyle. Why I said what I did was because Vickers Light in Blitz completely dominated medium meta(completely and utterly replaced mediums) despite being a light tank. Vickers Light in Blitz is now nerfed to ashes, so it’s funny seeing a PC representation of the tank, and I laughed as it won’t break the meta like it did in Blitz.

@@MoosicDude Which is what it was. Vickers turret and Leo hull. In tests it out performed all other NATO MBT's at the time. The German government however stepped in and blocked all export of the hulls so the project died.

It never had fantastic armor even for its time period because it was designed in the time period where tank armaments were surpassing the armor that was available at the time. Essentially the same philosophy as the leopard 1 but with a lower budget.

There's one thing that people don't really know is that the bloom gets bigger the faster your tank turns its turret. This means if you need to turn the turret to engage a target at long range, the Vickers will take quite a while to aim because its aiming speed is good but not excellent like the Leo1. Another thing that is worth mentioning is the Vickers has a cupola, so you can't be cheeky on ridgelines trying to abuse your accuracy to snipe cupolas while staying hidden. This tank looks ideal in paper but it's actually harder to play than the Leo1. It doesn't have the top speed to rush for positions. It has very good DPM but you will rarely use all of that DPM, just because the tank has no armor to play super aggressively. Sniping with it is also not as good as the Leo1 because of the lower alpha, slower aim speed, and HEAT at distances is not nearly as good as the 1.6k m/s APCR that can go through tracks.

This tank seems fine, but it's not unique enough to really validate the resources unless your FOMO or have no other use for them. Lion at least had the autoloader that makes it stand out a bit but this vehicle just seems a bit normal gameplay wise and If you really want something like this just free xp the leopard 1 or one of the British mediums.

Ah, my free EXP has been saved. Essentially being a British Leopard, I have no desire to purchase this vehicle. I am currently at the Leopard Prototype A & I really, really enjoy it. So, I have no need to purchase what is, in my opinion, a slightly worse Leopard (prefer the Leopard's mobility & alpha dmg for trading because alpha damage is king). From my perspective, this tank is good enough for the current MM. I don't care about pure tier 10 matches but a T10 tank shouldn't be near immune on the current maps when it faces T8 or T9 tanks. Sure, a T8 shouldn't be able to 1vs1 with a T10 but it should be able to hurt it frontally so... the good DPM with bad armor matches this scenario

After watching reviews of the Vickers by QB's, Skillz and Kazoos, then buying and playing it myself(an inferior yet experienced 55% win rate player), I can honestly say QB's is by far the most sensible and realistic review by far. Skillz and Kazoo were talking bs about it being an "amazing!" tank while QB said it's not great and about a C grade which imho is right on the money. Why did I get the Vickers then? Simple, I never bothered with the Cent AX line and being an active player I amass more than enough freexp and blueprints to get this for free basically. The gun is good but lets be real here and as mentioned in this vid, it has no armor and if we were to be honest, that's extremely limiting at the most unforgiving tier in the game where all tanks tend to have excellent gun handling and punishing alpha. So what it is, is a really weak platform like a Standard-B where it even the weakest HE pen values in the game still pen it. So you need to consider every enemy tank in those terms in regards THEIR DPM... not their AP DPM, but their HE DPM, then suddenly the Vickers amazing DPM is largely offset, especially with most all players at this tier having Intuition skill. This means a Grille isn't shooting you for 750, but more like 1000, and 390 alpha tank are shooting you for 490, and ya, suddenly it's only a really situational tank. Couple to that the fact a lot of maps are small little limited maps with very obvious bushes or no cover at all lol, and the fact you have no turret armor and ya... I was just getting killed off in what would normally pretty solid areas defensively had I just a little bit of mantlet or turret armor. SPG is SPG, eat 900+ dmg for full pen for the crime of being spotted or 400-500 dmg for a missed shot lol... it's just not the kind of tank for really doing much more than staying unseen. The evidence for QB's review being true is in the current MM imho. All these tanks were quickly sold which was a lot and normally when players get a "new toy" the MM is flooded with it for a few weeks and while that was certainly true for the first 3-4 days, I'm not seeing many of them now which tells it's own story! They're getting wrecked, simple. Not surprising given the above breakdown, tier10, no armor, tiny maps and a single shooter gun on an biggish target with mediocre camo and top speed. We already knew this would happen tbh. What I would say is in regards the positive points of the Vickers perhaps not touched on or expanded on, is that because the of the guns decent accuracy and excellent DPM, a player can truly explore alterative builds other than the classic "Vents/Vstab/Rammer". Sure for city maps and other close quarters maps, go with something like that, but for open maps you really can explore a different build with perhaps the exception of Vents, because vents are vents!!:P. Turbo as QB mentioned, yes, definitely agree with that because having no armor and mediocre camo means it's gonna want and need to get places fast, and away even faster when your flank melts! Then it's an interesting throw-up between the spotting device or the camo buff equipment... a very interesting choice. Of course, you could have both and drop the turbo, but 55kph comes with a noticeable reluctance to balls-out a push up a map like Prok personally speaking whereas with 60-61kph, I feel almost like a light tank. Hmmm... perhaps when I complete the FM's and unlock the extra camo I might not feel the need for the equipment to do so. Anyway, fair review by QB.

So i got the tank and I have to say it is really nice. No real armor like a Char Futr but gotdamn this gun is accurate even on the move. I just have vents, rammer and camo net and it is a great sniper. It's fast enough to get in and out. I don't have a Leopard so I can't compare it.

Coming back to WOT after a few years away I find it much more difficult to be successful than I remember because I feel like bushes are no longer usable due to the commanders vision system and when ever I do get spotted I get deleted because the meta seems to be either heavy armor, auto loaders, and sneaky lights dominating the map

that prolly feels like that because the Grille 15 gets abnormally bad gun handling, be it stationary or on the move. So the gun blooms out massively whenever you do any kind of movement. So you need to aim for quite a long time to get fully accurate.

well.. for intermediate level players who just sit back and snipe would be good with this tank, but being an opponent of those players will be suffer or annoyed... For veteran players like QB, this tank will do very well with high DPM and crazy accuracy with H P. He shell and HEAT.. All the brawlers who like to engage and like to use armor at front will suffer.. Fast game.. like city and small maps or onslaugh, this one is bad. but medium to long battle with huge map with lots hiding places this one will be very good Overall, it will do about little over than avg performance ? I need to change my playing style to .. earlier year like sniper instead recent play style learned from QB playing style as assault at front or support front line at close contact...

I think this review is hilarious - the real life Vickers 3 was a cheap copy of the Centurion fielded by the British Army; they saved on the armour which decreased weight and also allowed the use of a commercial engine. It was then sold to third world countries who needed a long range sniper to kill T-34's. So what you have here is WG for once modelling the tank as manufactured. Astonishing and, yes, hilarious when comparing it to a First World MTB.

Any light armored hi tier tank is welcomed to wot right now... Too many thick armored with miniscule or almost non existence easy to hide weakspot these day...

Since everyone only spams gold at top tier, armor is completely irrelevant. Mobility is much better than armor. Still overpriced, but at least it's not a blatant OP tank that gets released.
