Thanks for the video. I was lucky enough to put a few magazines through one of these last summer. It was the first that I've shot a 9mm 1911 and I was gobsmacked in just how soft the firearm was to shoot. Like many I'm use to 1911 pistols in 45acp which is not bad but the 9mm is in a different league. The day I was at the range I was working with my issued firearm which is a Glock 23. The difference in recoil impulse between the 9mm 1911 and model 23 was even more magnified than with the 1911 in 45acp.

@@MarkBadia I own both and I can tell the difference between them. The trigger on the Pro is a good bit better than the TRP and the recoil impluse is much more linear/smoother because the gun was hand fit. Bench accuracy is also better. Now take what I said with a grain of salt as I carry custom 1911s on/off duty, I shoot about 30k through 1911s every year as well as I build 1911s for personal range use. I notice things average 1911 owners don't as the minor details matter alot more to me in regards to quality of the build and its longevity.

somebody please enlighten me about the concept of a 9mm 1911. if i would want to buy a 9mm full metal frame, i would take something like a cz over it every day. more capacity, lower bore axis and i.m.o. more modern and " reliable" operating System. outside the concept of a training gun i honetsly dont see the point of it. Is it purely " sentimental" ?
@KatoCoyoteCombatWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Ergonomics, trigger, and match-grade accuracy for the most part, but also that the people that were using this in a duty setting had learned and trained on 1911s throughout their career before the current millennium. Operators would learn on a 1911 and then transfer over to other handguns, as Larry has said himself, rather than the inverse today. As for 9mm I believe it's because of greater range, recoil control, and capacity (10+1 is remarkable for a 1911). You aren't wrong about the "sentimental" value though, I think it has a lot to do with confidence in your equipment. If you know a 1911 very well and are confident in your ability with it, it might make you a better fighter.
