I live in States and we don’t use the term “pacer” here. Is a pacer basically a subway, metro or underground car with an engine built in so any car/carriage can pull all the others?
@jonistan92687 жыл бұрын
Leigh S a pacer is a cheap, bumpy train, the first designs were like a bus chassis on container flatcars fitted with diesel engines. Ok this is exaggerated. Just google it .

When I was a child (and a teenager) we lived in Croydon and many family holidays were spent at Broadstairs. I well remember Morrelli's, and the fountain into which my dad surreptitiously slipped some washing up liquid with predictable results! 45 years ago, my then girlfriend joined us on holiday and we got engaged there! We've been back a few times since - most recently in the October half-term last year when it was warm enough for people to be swimming in the sea. We made sure to enjoy an ice-cream at Morrelli's. Thanks for renewing fond memories.

Thanks for that. As a kid,(45 years ago) I lived in London and my Aunt lived in Birchington. Many school holidays spent exploring the Isle of Thanet ( Birchington, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate). A lovely trip down memory lane expertly presented by yourself and Vicki. Thanks again.

WoW (!!) you guys have stumbled into potentially the makings of a Hit Show. The format needs some tightening (a little chaotic and distracted this run) but a concept works and you can run with- “Vicki’s Tour” fascinating. She has a talent/gift of conducting a guided tour within real life museum …. Suggest Vicki be more in control of the audience next go.

Vicki and Geoff should come and explore Portsmouth! It didn't get much love during All The Stations, but we have the Dickens connection too, and Brunel (both born here), two castles, two cathedrals, the remnants of an old canal, part of which ended up as the railway line, ferry and hovercraft connections to the Isle of Wight, the location of a famous shot from 1970s Doctor Who, and... that's probably about it, to be honest, but that's enough to be getting on with for now.

Can I recommend a Vicki Explores in Folkestone. Its got culture with the Triennial happening at the moment with lots of art around the town plus it has a lot of history with trains with Folkestone Harbour Station and the Foord Viaduct. Also the nearby town of Sandgate is where HG Wells lived... (Just a possibility)
