This is the original italian song dated 1965 By Pino Donaggio " Io che non vivo senza te " with italian lyirics and translations...... Thank you forever Dusty and Elvis for your fantastic covers that made this beautiful italian song known all over the world.... Vicky Wickham and Simon -Napier Bell wrote the english lyrics cover for Dusty Springfield (1967) and then Elvis recorded his version in 1970...... It wasn’t written for her. She first heard it being sung at the San Reno festival. She brought it home, and some time later, Vicki Wickham and Simon Bell wrote English lyrics for it. It was subsequently covered by Elvia Presley.

Astonishing that Vicki Wickham got it hopelessly wrong when she said that Dusty had more Top Five hits than anyone. She didn't even have more Top 10s - despite the fact that she was the greatest.

Vicki gets so much wrong, I wonder if she is senile. I found it offensive when she once claimed Dusty's difficulty " coming out" stemmed from (VW's view) that lesbians have it harder than gay men. England, like Germany, only criminalized MALE homosexuality! And Dusty was more " out " than many stars, I have nothing but the highest respect for her.
