Finally, a reviewer who isn't obsessed with sound of their own voice and doesn't waffle on for 10 or so minutes. A well explained, short, sweet clip that was simple enough I feel quite confident I finally understand the machine. I done the exact same thing put the water straight through big hole first. Maddie's Daddie No its the blue one. Purchased the Sweet Dreams today as a backup and it doesn't have a filter. A bit disappointed in one way and happy in another. The starry night has a very firm base, never worry about it tipping plus the vast display of stars. The Sweet Dreams immediately produced a strong mist, but the multiple display on ceiling is just circles with pics. I feel it could easily be tipped. Just feel the Starry night is a more solid build,, just have rinse and toss filters... They each are unique in theIr own right and wished I had known there was a purple one to begin with.

I think they use to only sell the purple one at Baby's R Us, but that may have changed. We have a couple of "filterless" humidifiers as well, which use ultrasonic soundwaves to create the vapor. I like these because you don't have to mess with filters...Like you said, they all have pros and cons to them. Thanks for your comments :-)

Great! Hope you enjoy it - we still use it and it’s been about 3 years since this review - just remember if you don’t use it to pour the water out or it will mildew and mold and you’ll have to replace the filter more often.

+vergournia blue Glad you liked our video! Yes the filter is made with wiring. Just pull the whole thing out. You can also flip the filter over, which will help it last longer. So this helmet helped shaped Maddie’s head as it was flat before. This helmet helped to make it round. We went to www.cranialtech.com/ and that’s how we got the helmet which made Maddie’s head round.

The most for this humidifier is invisible. Even though you do not see it, it is still working. This is how this humidifier was designed. We actually used this last night with the vapor pads to help Maddie’s cough. It’s amazing how much it helps. Thanks for your compliments on Maddie! Have a wonderful day! 😀

Hmmm that's interesting it only lasts 1 hour for you - on the instructions and on the pads we purchased, it said they lasted 8 hours. We usually use them 2 nights in a row...granted they are not as strong the second night. My bad about the gasket... hmmm...maybe I should do another video on this since it's been almost 3 years...

I have a month and a half old son and he has reflux and the last couple nights been coughing a lot :( my husband and I bought this machine and I'm wondering something... my son sleeps in a bassinet and we put this machine on the floor by his basanet, I noticed that the air blows out from the bottom...so with it being on the floor is it even gonna help him? or do I need to put it up on a dresser or something so it's level with the basanet?

Hi Nancy! I'm sorry to hear about your son having reflux. I know that's difficult for you guys and especially your son. Although I am not an expert, I would recommend putting it up on a higher surface so that it better circulates throughout the room. I wouldn't think that you would have to have it right next to him for it to give your son relief. Also, we don't point ours directly at Maddie - we have the air flowing beside her rather than directly at her. So, I suppose the long and short of it is I would recommend something level or even higher than the bassinet. yeah I think that is for adults too but I want to contradict you on your choice of water if you're going to spend money on your children's health buy distilled water only and use that only in the humidifier tap water will cause more health problems and more cleaning problems and mold problems and more crustacean problems etc etc you don't even need to filter if you use distilled water that's pure especially from some of the big companies out there that still didn't deliver it in 5-gallon jugs for cheap money tap water should not even be used in a humidifier I'm sorry I've been using them for years and I know better because in any other type of water forms aspergillus and all of the kinds of mold spores that can kill you respond if you wish
