I admire the goodwill of some Filipinos concerning the revival of the peace talks with the communists. But the CPP-NPA-NDF is not interested with peace. Nothing short of a communist revolution would satisfy them. We must implement socioeconomic reforms to dry the swamp of the communist breeding ground and crush the communist insurgency by force, if necessary.

There's no point pursuing the peace talks. It will NEVER succeed. The CPP-NPA, espousing the Marxist ideology, will never stop until the government, together with the ruling elite, is brought down and they take over the government to start a "socialist" society which, according to Marx, will pave the way for a truly communist society. And violence is a necessity in that process, according to Marx. That ideology was what prompted them to take arms in the first place. They sowed violence and terror here and there to destabilize the government. That's how communism won the upper hand in China and Vietnam; and that's also what they wanted to happen in the country back in the day. Needless to say, that's the be-all and end-all of Marxist ideology. Marami ng administrasyon na nagdaan. Ano pa ba ng pinaglalaban nila? And the fact that they're still calling themselves part of CCP-NPA means that they're still espousing that ideology. That so- called "peace," if at all achieved, will only be transient and one-sided. Capitalism and Communism are like water and oil; they will never mix together.
