Hairy Pixels Different -strokes- volts for different folks. Mainly because some people dont want live catch traps, or traps where the kill isnt "humane" (quick or minimal pain), so these other traps fill those gaps.

jmbkpo I like that trap, but i would fill it enough to drown them. Plus the benefit of oil over water (like in most bucket traps)would be that the oil would preseverve the body longer delaying/preventing decomposition and smell

In the West Indies the electric rat traps were popular and effective. I repaired a few where the metal plates became coated with light corrosion. The early models seemed to have circuitry that weaken over time. I was able to make a temporary fix by using the plastic lid from a coffee can placed up side down at the entrance and putting water in it. The rat would walk through the water and its wet feet would conduct the high voltage much better.

plutoburn Traps that kill 2 or 3 mice are fine for people that just have a few mice in their house. I mean I wouldn't spend a whole lot on a trap like this one, but I'm not going to buy a walk the plank for 2 little mice. Maybe I would use the oil bowl, though.

Shawn I have the Victor Pro trap and it killed one mouse a night for four nights there are still mice in my house and for the last three nights the other mice will not enter the trap, I've tried peanut butter, chocolate and a combination of both, still no more mouse. I think, maybe after witnessing the mice shock, they are very aware. Should I take it away for a few days and bring it back or change the bait, please hlp me?

If you by chance have a link to the M260 multi-kill, I'd be happy to use that when I make my Amazon purchase for it. I have that same model and it's cheaply made the hinge on the lid breaks easily( I was clumsy enough to drop it but it fell from like 3 ft of my workshop table)

The Victor Multi-kill is a clockwork. One of my favourites. I also made a capacitor mousetrap. Instantly vaporises mice at 2000V 5000A 20F capacitor bank. My favourite mousetrap has fur and is portable. It has night vision and it can kill as many mice as it wants to (needs some encouragement to do so) also has a deter effect on mice. I have no mice now

I am a huge fan of the Victor Electric Rat trap and the mouse trap. Super easy to deal with. And unlike snap traps, you don't have to potentially worry about them running around bleeding everywhere if they weren't fully caught in the snap or it simply didn't immobilize them.

I think the mouse has to stay in the trap for a second blast - if they fell out too soon they might only be stunned. It would perhaps be OK if they could fall out into a bowl of peanut oil.

i worked for Victor years ago, before the traps all started getting wifi. Of all the traps this one sold the least to experienced customers. The single catch was effective, as is this one, but only with 1 mouse. it has more plates to catch more mice but the 2nd mouse rarely makes it to the end to get shocked. Originally the 1st mouse doesnt get shocked until it reaches the last 2 plates, then the trap would activate only the 1st 2. but this sadly seemed to work only once then sfter would not sllow 2nd mouse to enter. also the 1st shock lasts a specific amount of time then stops and could allow the 2nd mouse to get a minor shock my touching the 1st rodent, scaring it away. The multi kill is most effective just expensive. But seemed easier to make than fixing this model.
