I’m going to move out there. I’m going back and forth between going as self-employed or as remote worker. I also have two dogs. I’m thinking about bringing my mom. She has a very slow, progressive ALS, like Stephen Hawkins, and she has Medicaid, Medicare, and three different income sources. My fear is mostly just getting out there and finding a place for me and my mom on the countryside. It would be nice to have a little land to grow a garden and perhaps have some chickens and room for my dogs to run. These videos inspire me.

Thanks Guys! Really enjoyed that, love natural and alternative medicine also so was even better. Would be great to see more of these if you have the time Brad, especially with Aussie expats as our dollar is much different to the US dollar and Euro. When we convert it is much more expensive so we need to factor in a higher conversion rate. Keep the videos coming as I enjoy them immensely. :)

I Love Montepulciano! I have spent extensive time there. I understand the city and have friends there. Yes, it’s touristic, but, after the busses leave for the evening….its your town again. Also, outside of the city walls, you are in the country. It’s a great location. I want to start exploring the south of Italy more (I know….totally different in landscape and function). I am more of a warm weather beach person….,so, we will see where I end up. This video was very interesting to me because I am especially interested in Functional Medicine. I will look into Victors Ayurvedic practice. It makes me happy to hear that you both are enjoying what the area has to offer. I thought I was done with Montepulciano because I want to go south…..but, you two make it hard to not stay in love with Montepulciano. I am vegetarian(pescatarian ) and even in the Meaty-est restaurant there…..I had an amazing meal. Thank you for sharing the love of Montepulciano.

Great info! Thanks Victor and Brad! I'm in the beginning stages of applying for the self-employment as a sustainable clothing designer/creator, and have been super stressed about my prospects. It was great hearing your story, Victor. Helped me feel calmer about my situation. I'm going to drop you an email. I found a lawyer in Italy I like a lot so far. 🙏 I was surprised how difficult it was to get accurate information about this visa online. Brad, I'm moving from Texas, and I emailed you recently about what I'm doing, and what I'm looking for in a property. Would love to schedule a virtual meeting with you soon. Thanks again gentlemen!

Great interview. We know alot on this. As digital nomads we have been masters on this online working, way before COVID. I have 25yrs online experience. The process is utter a nightmare welcome to Italy. Exactly work with a lawyer and you may get there.😅 €5000 each OMG. But well done for perseverance on this. I hope it has all been worth it.

Hello Brad, I’m a retired teacher, I bought a house in Puglia. It’s being worked on. My husband is insistent on staying for 3 more years because of insurance and pension. I have a pension, he will have one. Can you please shoot some inspiring info to us that it’s okay to leave now? I want to be there so bad! I need to be there, my heart is breaking because I am not there. Please, watching this gives me hope that we can actually go now! Sell our place and go now!

Did I understand you say it takes a year to get your medical card? I thought it was three months. I'm thinking about using the residency visa by using my social security.
@BradsWorld12 күн бұрын
Took us more than a year. We need our Italian Green Card first. That’s the ERV. Victor got his faster because it’s a different kind of visa.

You speak of the 5% tax rate. My understanding is that only applies if your annual income is less than $65,000. Is that true?

How do I contact you for advice, I have a very challenging question. I recently learned that Canadians can no longer buy a house in Italy. Is this true, I am just starting the process of looking for a place in the next year and move here permanently.

It is not that straight forward. Depends where it is and city size etc. Also there are work arounds. You can write me at Bradsworld8@gmail.com

do you still need to pay for USA income tax?
@BradsWorld12 күн бұрын
Yes... That is why I think people putting so much emphasis on moving to small desolate villages so they can get the 7% tax is a fool's errand to some degree. It just means there's more tax left over for you to get charged back in the US or other countries once you get done paying your Italian tax. You'll never be double taxed, but just because you pay lower tax here doesn't mean that your tax rate from the home country is going to change that much.
