Chris Paul's the GOAT of proving people wrong. People doubted him when he left the Clippers, but he nearly took the Rockets past the Warriors dynasty. Then they doubted him on the Thunder, but he led them to a 5th-seed at the age of 35. Then on the Suns, he somehow took them to the finals. I think he'll prove a lot of people wrong this season.

The first half of the video was pure gold. So let's fix the rest of it. haha The missing piece isn't a particular player. It will be whether the Spurs pass the ball and move without it like the 2014 Spurs did to win a ring. The Spurs have shown that they are well on their way to mastering that skill in their first three preseason games. Players like Champagnie and Mamu are shooting the lights out from three as well. There have been lots of open looks and many open shots under the basket. PS. CP will NOT be traded because you don't trade a major reason for making it to the Finals!! On paper other teams have more star power, but the Spurs have the mindset to play winning basketball. IOW, CP's alley oops, open shots, ball movement, off-ball movement, and a pretty good defense.

I think an important thing to consider also, is the Spurs back to back record last year? They had the second worst record behind the magic in back to back games. Spurs (2-12), Magic (1-12). The best teams in back-to-back games were the Celtics obviously and also the bucks (10-3). The correlation between these figures, that I believe, is team experience. Spurs have added veteran players such as CP and HB. Boosting this percentage of their games could be the difference maker between the 11th and 10th seed.

Wemby was restricted and didn't play back to back games after the double win against the Suns so no surprise if Spurs lost most of it. Not meaningless but it was a part of Pop's tanking. You're right : veteran players will change many things in 4th quarters.

I think the Spurs found the perfect vet in CP3, and I think Wemby will get the respect he deserves with a true pg. I think if they are the 10 or 9, they are right where they should be. @gabrielcarrasco9078Ай бұрын
I think they need a franchise player. Wemby is obviously the number 1 guy. But Vassel is like a good 3rd option. We'll see how different. Based on the first exhibition games, he still seems to feel at home lining up beyond the arc on offense and catching the ball there. Against Orlando he shot 4/15 (2 dunks, 1 lay-in, 1 jumper) for 11 points, because he refuses to get in the paint and catch the ball there. Just like last year. 4/15 is downright inexcusable for an athletic 7'4" player. The way for him to make a real leap this year is to get his butt into the paint on offense. But that's not who he is. He and Popovich are limiting his offensive impact.

@SaySpawnАй бұрын
Wemby is a 3 LEVEL SCORER, he scores everywhere. When he is in the post the opposing team usually doubles him, so he pops out to stretch the defense by forcing the opposing center to leave the paint, thus providing easy layups and dunks for his teammates on the wing. Obviously you didn't watch Spurs games, you watch box scores, wait for Wemby to have an off night(which is ok, he's still developing) then you run to KZbin to make comments. 😂
@SaySpawnАй бұрын
Wemby last 40 games when he was switched to center 23ppg 11rebs 4assists 4blks -48% from the field, 35% from 3. Just so you know, WILT Chamberlain shot 43% from the field as a rookie, Wemby FG was 47%.

@@SaySpawn I couldn't care less about Chet, and never mention him.
@richatlarge462Ай бұрын
@@SaySpawn But he only scores efficiently when he's dunking. So why not do more than 2 dunks per game? It's hard to do when you're hanging out behind the arc hoping to shoot 3s at relatively low percentage vs other players. I do only watch box scores, plus highlights. That's enough to know what's going on. I don't wait for off nights, I analyzed dispassionately last year when he had good, bad, or medium games. And in his good games, he played like a center, not a shooting forward. So why not make that the rule? Honestly I wasn't planning to follow him and make comments on YT this season, but this came into my feed, so I couldn't resist.

The most impact is going to come from Stephon Castle, Ever since he got drafted by the spurs, I was in support of him succeeding and rising amongst all the other rookies. He looks very different compared to every person in the draft. He is a tall point guard who can make plays and defend at an elite level. He is not a Reed Shephard, He is not a Rob Dillingham in terms offensively, but we can develop that especially since CP3 landed in San Antonio. He is going to be the tony parker next to Tim Duncan, the Kobe next to Shaq, you get where I am going with this. Stephon Castle will have the best development out of all the rookies in this draft class,because of his enviroment. @AU79PLUS1Ай бұрын
@@UnknownSource08 Atlanta played better with only one of Trae or Dejounte last year, and now they don't have to worry about Dejounte. They got a few nice role players and a rookie with some promise now. They have no reason to tank. It's hard to believe that they're going to be worse than Detroit, Washington, Brooklyn, or Portland. Utah is probably going to tank. Charlotte, Chicago, and Toronto could end up tanking. Unless Trae gets injured for a long time, I see Atlanta as no worse than a play-in team. And since they already used their lottery "luck" last year, I don't anticipate a high pick from them this year. The Spurs should tank. This season is meaningless anyways. They're miles away from teams like OKC, DEN, MIN, and DAL. And some combination of NOP, SAC, LAL, LAC, PHO, HOU, and GSW are going to make it tough to earn a lower playoff seed. OKC and HOU have rosters stacked with young talent AND they have a ton of picks to trade. Utah also has a boatload of picks. Obviously, Victor has the highest ceiling of any player, but the team is far from complete. The Charlotte pick will probably never convey. The Bulls pick may never convey. The Minnesota pic is many years away. And those Atlanta pics might not be as good as people thought if the team continues to have no reason to tank. So, the smartest thing for the Spurs to do is tank. It's better to have two bites at the apple than one. What would be better, losing in the play-in game, or drafting a top five player in a loaded draft? The answer seems obvious to me. Keep in mind, many of the greats (Jordan, LeBron, Shaq, Curry, KD) didn't win their first championship till age 27-29. And the ones that did win it early, had a Hall of Fame teammate next to them. So if Wemby is Magic, Timmy, or Kobe, well he doesn't have a Kareem, Admiral, or Shaq next to him. Let's tank and find him one in the 2025 draft.

He won't. I'm french so it's not bashing but Rudy is a tree.

He is focused and mature. Scary

I like CP3 and Wemby together, I think they will surprise people. They won't be at the top of the west, but I can see them fighting for a 5-8 seed

I don’t think Wemby offensive game is there yet to be a Top 5 player not saying he won’t in future though
@Ebriel0000000Ай бұрын
He already made 21 ppg in 29 mpg games... despite playing a large part of the season without a real PG and with a bad spacing. His minutes will increase, he will have CP3+Castle+Jones and a better spacing so if he plays 34-35 minutes he will make something closer from 30 than 25. Many easy baskets and more FTs (he makes 80% of it) will raise his offensive efficiency a lot.

Wemby working on... fundamentals! Things nba players don't have. He's gonna be scary if he continues to develop those little things. On a level this generation of players won't be able to understand.

Kawhi and the Clippers will be a dynasty by this time. They would have done a 3peat and being winning their 4th in a row

Finally somebody tall enough to lift CP to the basket so he can dunk. Or maybe just throw him with the ball into the basket. Heck, lob CP to someone.
