This hit me hard. After 30 years of practicing and getting to know a thing or two about how....I have no answer to the why question

I've always liked this man for his talent on bass. Now I have much respect for his intellect. Nobody has ever said this any better. AWESOME VICTOR

This is beautiful. Bc as he has said and others too… music is the international language.. it’s the language of the soul…. And once you learn to communicate in that language… what is it that you have to say… mmmm… so good

And that point about Willie is nice too. There’s many musicians.. even some with a greater.. vocabulary.. in the language of music… may choose to be succinct. It’s like with any language some blather on and have nothing to say… others say few words but are meaningful.

Read his book “The Music Lesson” . I warn you, it’s different but stay with it as it will open your mind to music in a different way.

Refreshing, grounding... Just saw Roscoe Beck last night with Eric Johnson... Monster player... Gave me some lessons... But went to pick up my bass to practice a little while ago, and was like wtf... Listening to Victor brought me back... Ive been resfing his books, I read 1 sentance and think on it for hours!! Slow but good reading!!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 I have so many stories to tell through my music yet people were always drawn to what they have already heard, wich made me quit for a long time and then came having a family ETC i lost track of my dream, fast forward now my youngest daughter is 20 years old and ive decided to drag my equipment out and it feels good but from sitting and being moved from place to place my guitar has shorts in it my everything is now garbage, i feel broken, how do i with no extra money get a guitar that actually works when plugged in and let the world or just my family hear my stories, honestly i feel like my life is over but thanks for the inspiration ❤

it's an awesome point man. But i guarantee you Willy knows chords. he can play jazz shit.

I love this sentiment. But I gotta say, willie is an accomplished gypsy jazz guitarist in the Django Reinhardt tradition and knows all the chords. But he does only need one.

Willie knows a shit load of chords. Crazy by Patsy Cline, for example (Willie wrote that)
