After hanging up my bass for almost 15 years I am in the market for a new instrument to start working again. This little clip of Vic could not have come at a more fortuitous time for me. What a great bit of wisdom and I will be sure to keep this in mind.

cos he can afford them. LOL But as someone else mentions here: These seem to be an instrument worth aiming for and saving up. The only other bass I would do that for is a WAL - was recently at the WAL workshop in the UK and tried the bottom range standard fretless that I have wanted since the 80's. It was bloody incredible. So THANKS Fodera, now thats TWO to save up for.

I remember a time when original WAL basses were coming up second hand in the UK. They were considered very heavy and didn’t actually fetch that much money. Now they aim for the more money than sense brigade and people are queuing up for them. It’s just an electric bass guys. Material costs £450 max. All made with machines and some hand finishing. You’re paying £3000 for the name on the headstock.

I found my bass. It‘s a Sandberg california in the version of BTM in Nürnberg. Best store for guitars, basses and the rest of stringinstruments.

A Fodera is far more than a Tesla. It's a Ferrari. I love he tells the story with passion

SO true on many products. I cant afford a bunch of these bass guitars or even try them out. BUT teher are a few companies that I would definitely save my pennies for and wouldn't buy the higher price. Fodera is one of those companies. The type of customer service you get with those guys is second to none.

If you're paying 12 grand for an instrument (which is how much Victor's signature model costs), you better have superb support.

He actually explains it in depth in another video I think Joey came back multiple times for payments because Victor didn’t get paid for that studio session but they got to figure it out eventually

Pro musicians never pay these prices for instruments. They either get them for free for promotion or they buy work a day instruments often from other musicians. These basses are VASTLY over priced. Don’t buy all the bollocks the makers/dealers come out with. It’s just a bolt on solid bass guitar. Perhaps very well made but most manufacturers produce very well made basses these days.

They are nice basses....but I cannot play a bass that has a butterfly on the headstock....not even if Victor plays and has success with them....but they do sound good.....👍

Nothing can ever justify those gargantuan Fodera prices. Wooten plays Fodera because he is sponsored by them. It's ridicoulous to pay such a price for an electric instrument anyway. Check out Harley Benton Thomann music Europe for advanced and pro level basses and get shocked about value and price. It reminds me of a scam really with those boutique basses.
