If a new Mudvayne album is ever destined to see the light of day, I hope Ryan's imaginative playing and one of a kind approach to the instrument is what defines it. Matt McDonough's manipulation of time signatures through polyrythms married with Ryan Martinie's style of playing is largely in part of what makes LD 50 such an enduring classic. The entire band is unbelievably talented, but it's a shame that Ryan and Matt's more eccentric attributes as musicians weren't as apparent on subsequent releases. LD 50 is a masterpiece, and the whole band is so fucking talented; they could deliver another masterpiece with ease.

While I can't specifically say that in the band Spiral Architect that the bass is the sole lead instrument (both guitarists play leads like crazy), it definitely has that lead bass style throughout the entire album because Lars K. Norberg's bass is extremely easy to hear in the mix and he's all over the neck on his fretless. They only made one album, A Sceptic's Universe, and it's very much worth checking out.
