What type of character would I need to get through legacy of bhaal solo without potions and scrolls I’m very stuck trying too even get through bg1

Why without potions or scrolls? In BG1 an Avenger Druid would probably fit your bill best, spam web everywhere, it's one of the most op builds. In BG2 druids will stay quite nice, but will be strongest if you also have scs and improved shapeshifting.

I'm curious if you've ever tried the sword coast difficulty mod. It makes Throne of Bhaal pretty interesting.
