Serena And Azarenka Made a mistake more so Azarenka you cannot hit to her FH she had so much time because she knew where the ball was coming. I just don't get it you have to hit to the BH to be able to get too the FH! Hitting the BH down the line leaves yours on FH open Emma would just roll it cross court and the point was over since they both have no speed...

@@quentincrisp6933 it’s rather sad right? To see former champions out of shape, out of their prime. Not everyone can walk away from the game with dignity or a grand slam win like Sampras. Some linger around too long and get bageled by some young bloods on their farewell tour. But they deserve a chance to say goodbye even if it means losing 6-0.

Two very good back to back wins for Radacanu even if they were against opponents well past their best. Isn't it surprising how many players seem to find their game goes to pieces when Radacanu plays well. All the doubters like to put it down to opponents playing badly or being out of form. But when Radacanu serves well and hits to a good length there is enough penetration to put and keep opponents on the back foot. Sometimes you only get to play as well as an opponent allows and when Radacanu is playing well she makes it hard for her opponent to get into the match.

She has a great deal of raw talent no doubt. But now analyzed, she has continued to have trouble with the top players because the coaching is now much better then ever and studied, she has yet to move into that top tier imho, but she's awful close and continues to work on her game. this habit of not making many errors is winning me over. I might be a believer if she can pull off another great us open run(not necessarily win)...
@crazycatpetera1404

That might play a small part but primarily it’s Emma adapting to playing full-time on the tour, when you look at the matches she’s losing and observe her serve percentage, the lack of depth on her groundstrokes and the passiveness - it’s clear she’s struggling with the physicality, and she was playing more cautiously. As she adjusts, this level and her US Open level will become more and more normal. These two matches will’ve helped big time - I think she’ll probably win tomorrow, when Emma gains momentum and confidence she’s dangerous, and Jessica is ranked higher than her so there’s no pressure and she will’ve seen Emma bagel two major champions back to back, so Pegula will definitely be feeling it tomorrow.

@@crazycatpetera1404 The hardest thing in any sport is to play consistently at a high level. Even for the best, good form comes and goes and I agree that the more she plays on the tour the more likely we will see the form that won a U.S. Open. The performances against Williams and Azarenka looked like the Radacanu from the U.S. Open.

People are talking about how well emma is playing. Fair enough. Can we mention dimitri tursunov? Everything he touches turns to gold. The fact that in a week working with emma she turns a season around and is probably one if not the only bagel set serena has suffered and then azarenka takes 6/0 4/0 down to start figuring out emma’s gameplan. He has lifted so many players up and solidified top10eners with grandslams yet each time he does that, the same players leave him and their careers plunge again. What the hell? Coach award for tursunov!

Im a leftie and when i saw emma win the usopen she was slicing out wide from deuce side each time, coming in and attacking crosscourt backhand or wrong foot. She had a leftie coach back there and his patterns were working. I hadn’t seen her slice outwide that well again for a year till this week. Kudos to coach for bringing back her basics 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I watched the entire match live. There are some distinct differences to her game compared with earlier on in the year. One is that she is hitting earlier, closer to the baseline and more aggressively on the rise like how she did when she won the US Open last year. Two, she has developed a wicked slice serve swinging out right on the deuce court that takes the receiver out wide and opens up the court for a winner. Three, and this is significant, she has reduced the number of times where she pumps herself when winning a point, reserving it only for very key moments. Finally, she has rediscovered her technique of successfully changing direction by hitting winners down the line, instead of just playing down the middle. All in all, I wonder if this has been Tursunov’s impact. If it is, she should retain him. He took Annett Kontaveit to world No. 2, after all. And she has faltered after their break-up.

It’s interesting how she gives genuinely humble vibes, rather than the bravado we are used to seeing from players in the 80s and 90s. I think she has been trained to reign in the fist bumps, but it works. She is focused and precise. Emma has said off games where she doesn’t perform that it doesn’t matter. She’s young and lots to learn. But here it seems she has learned a lot. She is a class act. There are so many American comments saying that she is winning against older / tired players, but where is the joy and appreciation of someone who simply wins? All I know is that she is a great ambassador. She is respectful and eloquent and most importantly of all, she has the skill and drive to put the doubters to bed. Win or lose, there is no doubting Emma’s drive and determination.

Yesterday Mrs. Serena was given bagels, now it's Mrs. Ria (Victoria)'s turn to be given bagels too, that's really nice, Emma. It's true that changing coaches makes players feel comfortable, for example Emma is the new coach Dmitri Tursunov (Russian) who matches Emma's character, so you can continue, her playing style is very cold and focuses on every point, no wonder the former tennis queens were slaughtered one by one, as well as with Simona Halep, now managed by former coach Serena, see now Halep is progressing rapidly because coach Patrick Moroutoglou is the right person for Halep. .

Raducanu seems very composed and in good shape physically, touch wood (not like that you pervs :D). Is it just me or has her footwork improved? Difficult to say. Her serve seems to be improving throughout the year too. And her mentality is impressive to me, for a youngster too...

Well, you wear a dress *that* short and guys are gonna perv - it's normal. She is bigger and stronger than 9 months ago though, and can hit the ball harder. She's faster as well I agree. Good luck to her at the US Open.

I would have preferred a closer and tougher match here but it is good to see future players like Emma beating legends. As inconsistent Emma has been this year, its tournaments and matches like this and against Serena that can turn things around.
@ghsense2626

She's been consistent. She's lost early all year so what are you talking about inconsistent? That would mean she is winning alot of matches in one tournament then bust in another which has not been the case. I'll give that title to Anisimova

I wouldn't say she's on a roll, she's only won 5 matches in the last 5 tournaments (excluding Cincinnati), now with two dominant wins she can build onto a roll heading into the US Open
