Emma is patient and more consistent from the back now, not as anxious, it's a good sign because she's playing close now to how she played at the US Open. As her confidence returns she'll start to realize again how good she actually is. Emma did well in the last tournament as well being beaten by Iga Świątek in Stuttgart, but there's absolutely no shame in that given how amazing Iga has been playing recently.

This is probably the match that is most promising for Emma's remaining 2022 and possibly for her career moving forward. Her fight after being down 5-2 in that first set speaks worlds about where she is mentally vs. any of her matches since the USO where the fight and motivation just didn't seem to be there. Her strategy is almost perfect on this surface, too, very Hingis-like - mixing her shot making up and moving her opponent around the court, then go for the kill shot. This is a very good sign.

Teresa Martincova also played great, but she wasn't able to match Emma Raducanu's level. In the second set Emma Raducanu proved why she is defending US Open champion. She does seem to be playing more freely like she did at the US Open, but one match at a time. It's hard to tell in her past 2 matches which have both been impressive if she's getting her form back. If she can win her next match against Kostyuk which it looks as like she's got a chance to win then you might be able to say she is.

Finally getting back to form but must not relax and have to continue to improve. I give her a high five here.

Yes! Towards the end she completely broke Martincova physically, mentally emotionally! Look at the sheer power of Emma's shots! If you see Emma's strength training it is just scary!!

Great come-back from Emma, Congrats ! it was the key for the whole match! Pity for Martincova, she played very well at the first set! English Lady commentator though totally unacceptable, focusing only to Emma and praising her all the time, I wonder if she realizes that there are people watching who may support Emma's opponent and would like to hear some good and objective comments! Let's see how Emma goes beyond !

Not sure who the lady was...could have been Naomi Cavaday who is a Brit and a former No.6 in UK .....if so,she can be a bit over zealous in her praise for British players but all home nations commentators tend to be the same

If you watched the whole match, the commentator was praising Martincova when she made good shots to. In the highlights I agree that they are showing more of Emma’s winning points, but I didn’t feel while watching the match that is was all about Emma.
