Even as a spectator, it is hard to know in which direction Emma is going to hit the ball. She makes crazy angles and it comes without warning, plus she scrambles pretty well. That's why she's winning.

But the way things have turned out since then has been embarrassing. Not just the results but sacking the coach that helped her win the US Open and later sacking a top coach after only five months. The apparent reason for this being that she has the arrogance to think she can absorb everything a coach could possibly teach her in just a short space of time before dispensing with the coach and finding someone else that she'll treat in exactly the same way. And then there's the endorsements that look like desperate money grabbing when her performances on-court are so bad.

At US OPEN and WIMBLEDON 2021 her physique looked more athletic, she had agility and used her speed to catch the ball harder. It was only changing fitness after the US OPEN by adding more carbs and lifting a lot of weight in the gym that destroyed what Emma did best.

In my totally amateur opinion; She plays with a strategy, all about moving her opponent out wide, pinning them down and then changing direction for the winner. Doing that means she doesn't have to hit the lines, and gives herself room for error, plus she takes the ball early; But it is her strategic thinking I love, reminds me of Hingis, not in shot power etc. but thinking tennis. Loving it. Defensive wide forehand does seem to be her achilles heel at the min, however I'm just prattling about something on the hoof.🙂
