It was surprising to learn that she reviewed porn films, but it was not surprising to hear she set out to create a more superlative porn film as a challenge. Porn as a lark; there's something winsome about that. It's not only the ambition of trying to raise the standard of something that's usually disposable, but also the acceptance of it as a potential art form. That it was played for laughs is so damn charming.
