I remember when I was on vacation in London and I got to experience this madness. I did have to wait three trains, but having a train arrive every 90 secs really helps with that.

@@huzaifaimran9468 ehhh no. That's not true and I have been In japan 5 times. There was once that I was being literally crushed on a train and it was approx 9:30am. People would not stop pushing even though there was another train coming in 2 minutes. I had someone's elbow pushing my stomach in. I got off as soon as I could and took a different line even if it would take me longer to arrive at my destination. Fortunately, it was only one line that was so extreme, I did not experience that in other train lines.

Don't look at the Japanese for that. Look at the mainland Chinese and you will really see. Even at 1 minute intervals, they can literally push you aside so that they can board the train. Literally experienced it once and missed the train because of it.

trainExplorer They also monitor numbers and would close the station if it hit the number over which is considered dangerous. This happened at Oxford Street once whilst I was there but I can't remember what had caused the problem. I think one of the other stations had flooded and so people were trying to use a different route.

Euston lost its when the Bank branch platforms were reconfigured to allow cross-platform transfers to the Victoria line, and Angel had its island platform converted into an extra-wide southbound platform in 1992 (with the northbound track being routed into a new platform).

It looks worse on camera than it actually is. I honestly dont mind as i know this line has undergone extensive upgrade works over the past few years. Trains are roughly every minute, sometimes less. Theres not much more that can be done. Also worth commenting that he was filming at the busy end of the platform by the entrance.

It's probably not to bad because they have probably shut the station access down for crowd control. I live very near Victoria and I can tell you they are always having to close this staiion down at rush hour times for crowd management.

Peak hour weekday, either morning or afternoon. Victoria line, train every 90 seconds. As one train leaves the station, the next train is waiting in the tunnels.

the boarding process definetly needs improvement, at first people should get to the doors early and then there should be marked on the floor where the doors will be and where the people should stand until all passengers who want to get off the train are off and then everybody else can enter

Many stations were made years ago, when the population was around one third of this. Recently built stations, such as Nine Elms, Battersea Power Station and Elizabeth Line stations have much more capacity as they are newer, although if London’s population increases, they will still be cramped like this.

Oh gosh I took a bus last week and it took me an hour in traffic to then find the bus was being diverted due to a parade in Oxford street. It took me a further hour to get to my destination so on my way home I took the Victoria line and it took me 5 minutes instead of 2 hours.

You wouldn't get anywhere in London traffic. Most of these people live outside of London, using commuter trains into Victoria station then use the Underground to get into central, loads of people live more than 20-30 miles away, some more than 70, so using a car is just not practical.

The problem with waiting a few minutes is that during those few minutes, even more people turn up on the platform. You kinda have to be proactive and try to get on a train as soon as possible otherwise the congestion will build up and you will be waiting forever.

It’s just really not the same thing, specially when you’re young and if you’re used to the ‘city life’, hustle and bustle of it! It’s just not the same thing ...
