I have one but it doesn't work. I'd love to have it repaired. A couple of my neighbors have them too. We live in a historical neighborhood in Memphis TN.

This is very helpful! I'm attempting to repair a similar lever-activated doorbell -- it's on the front door of a house built in 1720. I have a 1939 photo showing the same front door with the doorbell installed, but no way of knowing how long the doorbell has really been there. My doorbell has a more complex three-arm mechanism and, sadly, is missing its spring(s). I'd really appreciate a longer look at your doorbell in action, from a couple of different angles. (I also wonder how I could possibly find the right spring(s) for this?!)

We had a twist doorbell on the outside that you could twist then press and it rang... is there a way to date the house based on the doorbell? The house has long been torn down, just wondering if we could date it that way?
