Victorian Premier's decisions are 'driven by the polls'

Menzies Research Institute Senior Fellow Nick Cater says the Allan government is “driven by the polls”.
Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan has refused to rule out the promise of reparations to Indigenous groups or the creation of Indigenous seats in state parliament amid treaty negotiations.
“The Allan government is very driven by the polls,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“We had a very reliable poll on this last year, on October the 14th, and we all know what the result of that was.
“They should listen to what people were saying.
“They were talking about the whole idea that we should treat some Australian citizens differently on the basis of race or ancestry - that’s just not part of the Australian way.”
