In the time I've owned some of my older SAK's I've worn out the file on my Leatherman, a couple of fishhook files, countless hacksaw blades, and even a few full-sized metal files of decent quality. IMO anything designed to cut metal is a consumable, destined to have a fairly short life if used regularly, and I expect to use any SAK I buy for a very long time... so no Ranger for me.
