A slow paced look at which SAK I choose when I travel to "pocket knife hostile" urban environments. There should have been stove and tea action but someone was not applying his own dictum about preparation,

I don't often use my SAK but I always have one along and I'm always glad I had it when I do use it. The Super Tinker gets most of the pocket time lately because of the scissors. Also like you, the small blade is the choice for jobs that might be better suited for other tools that happen to be absent at the time of need. Mostly it's the tools I use and not the blades. I suspect the number of steps it saves me each year could be measured in miles.

I am the same, I will usually reach for my traditional pocket carry but knowing the SAK especially, as you say for the tools, is a great feeling. Loving those Buck videos of yours BTW!

I carry the huntsman out and about without realising for the same reasons you carry the climber the 2 blades and the scissors But also the saw , love the saw All the best Mick

From time to time I change the Ranger out for the Huntsman - almost never feel under tooled.

Huntsman is a fine tool and just small enough for the pocket too - beats the Ranger on pocket portability

The climber is one that I don't have in my collection yet, but I'd like to get one. I do carry the super tinker quite often. Cheers, buddy!

Funny think David is that I bought the Super Tinker but never carry it - you would love the Climber!

I have a wenger with a blade, a nail file, the opening layer and scissors, corkscrew and awl. That is my urban carry. I have many others but that’s the one I reach for the most.

I think we all find our "go to" and the great thing is that we are all different so it keeps it interesting and we have something to chew the fat over.

I too choose to use the small blade. I like to save the large blades edge.

I know what you mean, it just makes sense somehow - I don't think we're in the majority but it doesn't make us wrong 😉

Scissors are definitely the right tool for cutting threads and other fine work. I prefer the little scissors on the 58mm keychain SAKs. And then I add something else as my "actual knife".

I love the distinction. Me, I just live with the duplication as I am not always with my keys. Your logic is of course unassailable.

I'm a big fan of the small Compact. I've never had it let me down....on those days I choose to carry it...and I think it would get me through 9 out of 10 days wandering about town. Although....I do wish it had an awl. With an awl, the Compact would become a fast favorite EDC.

Checking my pockets, as I respond, I find I have a Deluxe Tinker in one.....🤠

I would expect nothing less my friend...nothing less and then there are the other pockets and the belt. Right?
