It's a Nickelodeon vs. Disney showdown today on Vulnerable! I get to chat with my long time friend and colleague, Daniella Monet. After making her mark on Nickelodeon with her iconic role as Trina Vega in Victorious, Daniella went on to new adventures, including getting married and starting a beautiful family. From Nickelodeon to ABC, you've seen her work her magic all across television.
We talk about mom life, becoming vegan, and reconnecting with old castmates. We even get to reminisce about memories from working on a movie together and what it was like shooting at the iconic High School Musical school.
What ACTUALLY happened to The Click Five? Why did Daniella almost flake on the first date with her husband? How was she part of the inspiration for the Vulnerable Podcast? Join us now!
You can follow Daniella on Instagram at @daniellamonet, @daniellasdigest, and @kinderbeautybox, and on TikTok at @daniellamonet. Check out her websites at daniellasdigest.com and kinderbeauty.com.

@Taylorjade007 Daniella is actually a year older than me, but doesn’t look it. That’s why they chose her to be on victorious when she was already 21. I was never a fan of Victorious as I was too old for Nickelodeon at the time it was released. But I love Daniella as a person. She seems super sweet and fun to be around.

I absolutely loved that Daniella opened up about having anxieties after her son was born. When she said that she was anxious when people would hold him too long or certain people to come into their home I felt so seen I had my son three months ago and I’m experiencing the same anxieties. It was so refreshing to hear someone say they felt the same way. I hope she can go more into that one day on a podcast. I’d love to hear about it!!!

It’s completely normal. We experienced it when our own kids were born and growing up. We were very selective of who held our babies and babysat them, even amongst people in our friend group. We still do remain cautious of who we leave our kids with, even though they’re in middle and high school now. It never really goes away, at least it hasn’t for us. You just never know about people, even the ones you know or think you know.

Daniella is so genuine and down to earth. She had to be "extra" and over the top all the time as Trina. I wonder whom she used as inspiration or if she just projected personality traits of meladrama sterotypes?

I loved hearing Daniella say, "Let's do it again" when telling her birth story. I had an unmedicated birth, and that shit sends you to another dimension- I think any form of birth does. During the transitional phase, I had a moment where I was like, "Holy cow, how are there so many people in the world?! This is what women have been up to?!" Afterwards, I had the same thought of, "Wow, how stunning life is. Let's do it again". Cheers to this podcast!

I wish that her character in Victorious was someone who got into modeling rather than being the “untalented one” of the cast. A lot could have been done with that that could have been funny and camp. Also there could’ve been opportunities for educating kids about the reality of the modeling industry. It also made sense with the character altogether and would’ve been better than her being the brutal brunt of the joke.

It really makes me sad and I heavily relate to how much Daniella has dissociated and forgotten her childhood/teen years and twenties. Big sister syndrome is so real and I can’t imagine the whirlwind of emotions and stress from being a child star as well, even though it’s something I wanted SO BADLY as a kid. You two are such a great duo and I love this podcast 💗💗

Love the mom chatter! I just gave birth to my first! I had precipitous labor and had no time for an epidural or painkillers. My baby was in distress and they made me push super fast. I also had some assist from forceps. She was born within 1hr 20 min of my cervical check that was 5cm. It was traumatizing and I’m so proud of the whole thing. My doula was totally essential for handling the pain of labor. Her coaching was essential. Also, I definitely screamed my baby out on the final push.

I’d love for Christy to be able to interview Victoria Justice. There don’t seem to be many deep dive interviews with her. I don’t know much about her, but it kind of seems like when the powers the be failed to make her into a “big star” (aka cash cow), they just threw her to the dogs and moved on. Now, I could be wrong, but if she’d be up for a sit-down with Christie, I think it’d be quite interesting.

I cried my eyes out during your circle of life duet. I am 29 years old and that song is one of my favorites still. And a Drean is a wish. Anneliese is a redhead icon and I loved you since I was 6. Your art truly lives forever and you are always and forever "relevant". Thank you for mentioning Amanda Bynes and being a true friend to Raven. I feel like you are my friend too cuz I watched you forever. I also loved your song on raven "Alone in the hallway". You being a safe person for raven since day one and until now. You really are a Disney Princess.

OKAY 😂 FIRST, @christy I love you so much I've never related harder to you than at 14:25 and I am so happy to be able to hear these conversations and hear genuinely how the kiddos from our screens are doing now. Because I've always cared and I like to hear how people have been and how their families are 🥹

Daniella is so amazing! Trina was a hilarious character that she played splendidly and how can someone play a role so contrasting to her real personality without being a great actress?

I am the eldest daughter. I'm the oldest of 5. I have two brother right behind me and 3 sisters behind them. Because of this, I am CHOOSING to have one kid for now. I've lived the chaos of children. I'm still helping with my two kid sisters, so I can't imagine bring another kiddo into my life. I love my one little boy.

5:45 I am SO glad you didn’t cut out the parts about breastfeeding and co-sleeping. I breastfed both of my kids for 15 months each, co slept with my daughter for 2 years, and my son is currently still in my bed at 2. Haven’t slept in bed with my husband for 4 years since they both inevitably end up in my bed anyway. I am so tired and struggling with it, 😅 but so glad to know that I am not alone, and not only that, but not alone with someone I grew up watching. Thank you!

Hi Christy. Can you please get Linda Blair to come on? Her role as Regan was iconic and now that the Exorcist reboot is happening (she is rumored to be in it) with two new child actors I just cant imagine the grueling hours they must have gone through and I think Linda could have some insight about her experience shooting into stardom at such a young age. Thanks!

Hi guys! Love you both! The reason why celebrities don’t mention what 12 step program they’re in is because if they relapse then they don’t want to have been preaching about aa/na and then people see them relapse and then say “well I guess the program doesn’t work” and possibly deter someone from joining one of the fellowships. , Atleast that is what has been discussed in meetings I’ve been apart of.

I did it natural (not by choice) and it was horrible Pain. After 3hrs after having my son, I had no pain. Nothing. I didn't even bleed a lot. The nurse refused to give me my epidural and never notified the doctor.
