This is a really good, detailed review. Thanks for making it!

Good review, adjusting the preload of the rear shock is a must for us bigger riders. Factory fly screen works pretty well, your head is still gonna get air but it does remove quite a bit of the wind off your chest. Without fly screen you really need to hang on at 70-80 mph but with fly screen 70-100 mph you dont have to grip as hard.

Hey Great Review. I just bought a 2012 and absolutely love it. I put on a Loydd's timing gear, air intake, fuel controller and a set of RPW Bad Boy exhaust right away. She's a Beast!! I can't wait for the snow to go away so I can get back on it.
@CharlesEtienneAuger7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I also actually have a Lloyd's timing gear and I didn't mention it because I have another video coming out in the spring about the shop who helped me install it. Makes a world of difference on throttle response. No more hesitation. I hear you about the snow. I'm in Montreal and it's just killing me.

Bought a Nuclear Sunset Orange/Tribal 2006 Hammer 100ci. With a Stage 1 kit I went to the track and ran 12.6@101mph in the 1/4 mile. Light burnout and this thing just launches. That's with 80whp and 103wtq. Love my Hammer. I think an S is next. 😁 Unfortunately 2nd run I pulled the front wheel and missed my 1-2 shift ran 13.1@97mph. Nice motorcycle great video.

I'm a very novice drag rider. I'll even go so far as to admit that I've only been running quarter miles ONCE and that was on my Hammer S. I was able to get somewhere in the 11.7 four times in a row, around 105mph (I saw about 170kmh on my dial, being in Canada) and what I found was that it's really geared well to do that. You're right at the top of 4th gear when you cross the line, if you shift it right. I tried getting to 5th sooner and it's no faster. Needless to say I was destroying anything on 4 wheels that day.
@nicholasselvaggi542 жыл бұрын
@@CharlesEtienneAuger Stock Hammer S had similar HP and TQ as my tuned bike. Are you upgraded? My first run was a great launch and 4th gear run. .0505 reaction with a 1.8 60ft. How did you get 11.7s? 🤔
@CharlesEtienneAuger2 жыл бұрын
@@nicholasselvaggi54 I can't find the slips. It was a while ago. I remember being told by friends there that my reaction time and 60ft was very good. The bike had a Lloyd's timing wheel advancing ignition by 4 degrees and maybe the exhaust helped a tiny bit. I don't believe the previous owner had done anything to it. I don't have any other data because it's been a while. I'll let you know if I find the slips.

@@CharlesEtienneAuger I bet that is why you were able to get those times. Could run with a V-Rod. 😁
@CharlesEtienneAuger2 жыл бұрын
@@nicholasselvaggi54 I think that off the line, it would hold against a V-Rod but the engine design means that the V-Rod would have a lot more top-end. I'm sure the Harley is faster. Too bad they pulled the plug on the model. Cheers!

Hey OG. I am considering a 2016 Hammer S. from an online dealer. I am only 5'5" though, do you think I will be able to reach the forward controls and stock bars? 🤔 THANKS! Great review! I love these bikes. 👍
@CharlesEtienneAuger3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'd try and maybe see if I could find one that I can go sit on and check. I think you'd be fine with the bars but the forward controls, I'm sorry to say, might be a little bit of a stretch. I could be wrong. Again, I'd want to see for myself, in your situation, before making a commitment. Thanks for watching!
@aramisproductionsllc.44123 жыл бұрын
@@CharlesEtienneAuger Thanks!! Yes I wish I "could" but it is out of State and we don't have any local Hammers around. I can just move the controls to mid (if possible) or get the adapters. 👍

I have an 05 Hammer with the 100 ci engine. In my opinion it's got plenty of power too. I think you under represented the 100 ci engine. The 106 may have a bit more power, but the 100 is no slouch!
@CharlesEtienneAuger3 жыл бұрын
For sure! I remember my mom's 100 had plenty of power there. I know the 106, for whichever reason, is what Victory decided to go with and I was impressed with this cam setup as well. I think once they decided most of their bikes would have the 106, it didn't make sense to keep the 100 around for one or two models.

How it the comfort? Someone told me it’s stiff on bumps. I’m 6’1 255lbs and want something to drive in town but yet take on weekend highway trips as well. Many people said switch the seat to better padded?
@CharlesEtienneAuger3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony. Thanks for the question. It's stiff. It's not rock hard but it's ''sports car'' stiff. We're about the same size, you and I and this bike is made for exactly what you described. I'd add that I don't like it on the highway because of the wind. There are variables but for guys our size, no aftermarket windshield is going to make that better. You have to stop for 20 minutes every hour of highway time if you want your ears to stop buzzing or your neck to have a break. This bike is for riding up to highway speeds. It's comfortable for that, it makes the right noises, it looks great and, if we're honest, it makes you feel attractive. Let's not kid ourselves. I did get a Drag Specialities seat as a replacement and yes, it's way more comfortable. Think of this bike as a V8 convertible American muscle car. It's great on Sunday afternoon but that's about it. If you like Victory's and want to spend a lot of time on the highway, get a Cross Country or a Magnum. Cheers!

Nice Review!!! Can you please tell me where to buy this seat? Drag specialties website does not have the same one. How much did it cost you for the seat?
@CharlesEtienneAuger5 жыл бұрын
Hi Pradeep. Thanks for your comment. I would recommend finding a Parts Unlimited retailer, or look at the JP Cycles website for that brand. I don't remember the exact cost but it must have been $300-400 Canadian. Good luck!

You think someone who’s 6’5 will fit on this bike?
@CharlesEtienneAuger4 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not! They sell handlebars that are flatter, for longer arms and the footpegs can be adjusted somewhat. I'm 6-foot and it's perfectly fine. I don't see another 5 inches as a problem at all.

Looking back at it, you're probably right. People here don't seem to get to a complete and full stop unless it's not their turn to go through, anyway. Bad habit, I confess. Mind you, I was never pulled over. Thanks for watching!
