Absolutely brilliant ! Have been waiting for a comparison shootout like this for a long time ! this is highly valuable to anyone wanting to tune their Victory ! Well done and thank you !

I recently picked up a bone stock 2016 Victory Hammer S with less than a 350 miles on it. (still had nubbins on the huge chicken strips, which now are long since gone lol) [i am a former roadracer via CCS & Formula USA Thunderbike series from years back] I'm wondering if simple mods like Lloydz adjustable timing chain, and perhaps torque tubes are worth the money for performance increase, or should I just leave this unmolested, pristine bike stock?

From a value standpoint, I do not think that modifications are going to bring down the value. Now if you keep the bike for 20 years and it still had 350 miles then that might be a different story. From a performance stand point your bike is making around 78-85 hp stock and 95-100 tq. Peak hp is right around 4800 rpms. Lloydz TTI, a good exhaust (RPW Thors 2-1) and a tune via Maximus is going to bring hp to 95ish @ 5100 and tq 110 ish @ 3600ish rpms. Parts alone would cost $1700-1800ish. Then depending on if you did the work yourself (no labor cost) or took it someone 300-500ish for labor and then tuning could run from $300-800 depending if you used a remote tuning service (more expensive) or took it to someone that can tune with Maximus. I do not recommend doing an intake change without tuning the bike. There are several tuning systems: Maximus (reflashes the ECM), Power Commander V / VI and Lloydz VFC are (piggyback controls). You can do an exhaust and timing wheel and can generally get by without a tune, slight bump in hp 2-5 and 4-6 tq going this route. The bike will feel totally different and run harder for sure. Is it worth it, that is sorta an individual perspective based financial situation. You can call or message around to some of the Vic focused shops to better dial in their quoted cost to assist with your decision. I hope this addressed your questions and let me know if missed something or if you have anymore.

Wish I could get my kingpin on a dyno and see where it's at only place within 500miles that will even let me bring in a victory wants $500 =( Think I've done a good job of keeping it alive not being a machanic it's got 118k milage I did a tear down at 97k and had the barrel redone by mallinum Technology and the valves freshened up. Was a crazy learning experience putting it back together my first time doing pistons and rings on a motorcycle.

Man that is awesome that you tackled this on your own!!! Great job and learning experience!!

Awesome comparison. I liked how you kept a few of the variables consistent, so we can see how much displacement alone affects the numbers. My next question would be, what cam would you recommend for the 116/117 big bore kit? I feel that the big bore kit should have put up bigger numbers than they did, and maybe it's the cam that held it back some. But I really like your breakdown videos and your charts that are easy to see the numbers on.

Glad you have enjoyed the videos and thanks for the feedback! Regarding the output of the big bore. The numbers are inline with newer Dynojet dynos with updated software. Across the market we see XC big bores in the 118-127 hp and tq in the 128-133 range. This is with stock heads or mild porting with stock valves. Now with older software we would see hp in the 125-132 range. If you go to The Vic Shop FB page, Yesterday they posted a 106 build with with HPT (504) cams, 122 hp and 117 tq. Then look at 12 Feb and there is a 117 big bore with the same build as the 106 (cams, intake tuner etc) that made 123 hp and 131 tq. Big difference in tq but similar peak hp. These are just an example that if you build to of the same combinations and the only difference is enging displacement, the limting factor on peak hp will be the part that restricts power production, in this case it is headflow. Now if you look at 9 Nov 2020 there is a big bore build that made 118 peak hp. Also you will see some big bore builds also make 125+ hp too. Hope that clears up my thoughts.

@@hammeredsteelperformancehs1120 117 with Revolutionary Performance's cnc ported big valves heads. 504 cams if they can still be found, good 2-1, supporting mods, well tuned should make what 130-135 HP? In your example you would think the extra compression, bigger bore, and to a lesser degree larger cylinders to fill would result in more of a HP gap than 1 HP. There is perhaps better tuning better air happier dyno. But if the HP choke is that die hard to the heads then the cnc ported big valve heads should soundly result in a solid HP jump. Your shop & dyno would be 8 hour drive one way. Do you have any 504s or ported big valve heads to sell?

@@vernlochtefeld1626 I just got a set of Revolution Performance heads back from them. So I will be testing them on my 106 XC. I already have a 48.5mm throttle body. So this test will be only comparing their cnc heads to stock head. This should give a good indication of increase in power. Now I know that a set of ported Victory heads (Star Racing) on a 116 Vision with the 504 cams was worth about 18 hp. But these were high end heads 40mm titanium intake valves, 50mm throttle body. So I expect to see 5-10 hp with the Revolution heads. I would speculate that if the Rev heads are worth 5 hp (for example) on my 120 Hp 106 XC, you could see maybe 8-10 hp gain on the larger 116/117. Great air flow demand, and see peak hp happen at 6000 or so. I installed my last set of 504 in a 116 Vision that made 128 hp / 128 tq. Big bore Visions are 3-7 hp better than a big bore XC due to better air flow with a top filter in a vision combined with the front filter. Currently Lloydz are out of 504s. The turn around time for a set of Rev CNC heads are about a month or so.

@@hammeredsteelperformancehs1120 Looking forward to your results. Bet that Vision hurts some feelings. Yea ole George is now retired. But has a custom race build 145ci Harley M8 going together for himself. :) Going to get 200 HP and run at least a 9.75 with his bagger. How do I get a 48.5mm throttle body? So can I order 504s from Lloydz and hope to have them by spring?
