Really enjoyed the videos ! great explanation ! love to see a supercharger vs turbo comparison ! but i know those are very rare in the victory world ! Cheers for the good work Cory !

That would be an expensive comparison for sure. The main reason why the supercharger is sorta a better fit for Victory over a turbo is actually they way build boost. A supercharger produces a rising boost curve. Low boost at lower rpms and it rises as rpm increase. This gives sometime for a variable clutch to apply addition pressure on the clutch. On a turbo, sized right, it will build boost at a much lower rpm and it is harder for the clutch to hold the power without slipping. It sounds counterintuitive, but its what happens. Most think that a turbo is soft on the bottom, but if sized right it hits hard down low. Now in race cars, trying to make big power may run a turbo or two of them a couple sizes up to make huge power on the big end.

That is a centrifugal supercharge

The Vic Shop built a super charged SC. Raced against a turbo KP, did very well. It's on YT.

My 05 TC is noticeable in seat of the pants torque compared to the 06 KP I had. Also heavier. In the back of my mind I was trying to figure out how much a HD 103 owner would have to spend to get over 100 & 100 (and run under 280° oil temp).
@coryackley9442 жыл бұрын
They challenge the HD twin cam engines is are the head flow. Stock twin cam heads on the 103 peak flow about 195 cfm. Where our Vic heads flow 250 cfm, this is one of the reason that your Vics responds well to cam upgrades. The 03-06 V92TC and 03 V92 classic cruiser has a real good stock cams too. Now for reference the HD M8 heads flow 300 cfm stock, and that's why the respond so well to cam upgrades as well.

Love your videos. Where these tuned by the same person or just slapped on and dynod?
@hammeredsteelperformancehs11202 жыл бұрын
I tuned each of these bikes. These were from my library of dynos that I dug through to find similar combinations on different engines sizes.

@@hammeredsteelperformancehs1120 I am unable to find videos of these bikes running at these numbers vs what they put down on the dyno. If you know of any sources of what these bikes will actually do with the numbers posted im sure many people would like to see them. Personally ide love to see any one of these bikes do a highway run 0 - whatever just to show the difference from stock, what the mph actually goes to with the extended rev range, etc.
@hammeredsteelperformancehs11202 жыл бұрын
@@GrandpaWazi If you could, can you expand on your thoughs?. Are you looking for say stock power vs times on the drag strip? And how the performance changes with improved power? How much of a mph gain one gets with a rev extended?
@GrandpaWazi2 жыл бұрын
@@hammeredsteelperformancehs1120 Exactly. There is only one video I know of showing a high ball with some mods doing a 20-120 pull on the highway with the camera pointed at the speedo. Drag videos where they expand on what was done to the bike with the times shown are far and few between as well.

My 2006 Victory Hammer came back at 80 whp and 103 wtq. Wonder if he was off a bit on the hp number. Also, if I should have a run with someone else on a different dyno to see if there is a difference? 🤔 Stage 1 K&N Filter with intake cover upgrade RPW Slash exhaust Power Commander 5

Every dyno is a bit different, but generally yours sounds middile of rhe road. On my dyno i would say it would make similar tq and hp around 85. More important that peak numbers, does the bike run well, pulls cleaning theough the rpm range and good throttle response?

I am looking a 02 TC that had the Victory 100" kit put on it, and had cams and intake (unknown on the cams, intake is Lloyds Torque Tubes). With the larger valves and now the same displacement as a 06-07 100", should it be comparable in torque and power?
@coryackley944 Жыл бұрын
It would be similar, the main difference is in the exhaust and how that effects performance. Meaning that there are multiple exhaust options for the 05-07 100" while the TC really only has muffler options.

Crazy, right.... Horsepower Nation just posted a new video today! They took a 360 Mopar Magnum and ran it stock on the dyno, and then they made it a 410 stroker and then ran it again with stock heads, camshaft and the same intake and carb. Now the stroker did change compression ratio from 9.9 to 10.8. The 410 picked up a ton of tq and only made about 30 more hp. This is on a v8 so the gains on a 2 cylinder would have only been about 7 hp from adding a bunch of cubic inches and almost a full point of compression. Just like we were showing in the 92 v 100 v 106 video, when you use similar heads, cam, intake and exhaust and you only change engine displacement, peak hp will not change much tq will for sure. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJO8aIh9qr90nKM

What are your thoughts on having a custom xpipe on the 106? Lose some torque but gain hp?
@coryackley9442 жыл бұрын
I have never tested an x pipe design so all I can do is speculate. My gut would say that an x-pipe mid or the more common h-pipe (that is what is used by victory on the steel frames) mid would perform similar but not as well as a good 2-1 for broad power curve.
