Good video man. Like the in depth review. I’m running RIP TKO’s with iron will inserts and collars and Max Hunters in a 3 fletch

Thanks! Nice, how are you liking the RIP TKO arrow shafts?

@@truoutdoors I love the RIP TKO’s. Very durable and easy to pull from targets. I’m a huge fan of the 5mm/.204 size as well

Nice, I hope these hold up well for me this year! Same. I think .204 shafts have a good balance of small diameter and variety of components.

I am using the same victory rip tko's. You are goung to like them they are very tough and durable. I am using the Easton inserts 75g with 125g field points. Using nocturnal's for my nock and bohning wrap with the bohning x vane's and a three vane configuration, with a left helical. As for the broadhead I am using the annihilator's at 125g. With a total arrow weight of 523g. I shoot the same set up for practice as i do for hunting.

Nice, that's good to hear. That sounds like a solid setup, a good amount of weight there. What bow are you shooting those arrows with?

You can tune your bow at 7 yards and then step out to 70 and get a perfect bare shaft. Helps eliminate everything.
@truoutdoors2 ай бұрын
I typically paper tune, then bareshaft tune out to 40 yards and then go to broadhead tuning. I'm not good enough to bareshaft tune at 70 yards so I don't bother chasing that level of perfection. It'll just drive me crazy 😂 my broadheads shoot with my field tips out to that distance, the rest is just me.
@johnnewcomb51622 ай бұрын
@@truoutdoors set your target at 7 yards plum you a 1 inch tape line, just get your bare shaft, fixed blade broadhead arrow and a fletched to hit the exact same hole. Set your 20 with your fletched arrow and then try a fixed blade arrow and the other 2 again. They more than likely will be exactly the same and maybe a small adjustment at 70 yards. Once you adjust at 7 yards you have to adjust your vertical and horizontal and once you move back if you have the right spine you will be good. Every vane out today is plenty good to fly a fixed especially the one's that you are using. I use to go through a huge process for tuning the bow now I don't even paper tune. I just do the 7 yards, try it on your next setup and let me know how it works for you, saves me a big headache.

I like the same nocks i went from the tko to a inch shorter victory vap SS arrow and have found ny perfect arrow. How did you like the TKO now that you had some time with them. Great setup you have.
@truoutdoors2 ай бұрын
They've been good. They've held up a lot better than my black eagle rampage arrow shafts during practice and 3D shoots. I took a few animals in Hawaii with them too. Got pass throughs with the arrows hitting boulders on the opposite side of the animal. The front of the shaft wasn't damaged thanks to the collars.

@@truoutdoors My setup is almost identical to yours except I'm shooting a Mathews Phase 4 29 & I'm 29/70 my arrows are the RIP TKO V1 300 cut at 28.50 I believe but, the only difference between ours except the length is I'm running the 75gr. SS outsert currently... what kind of speed are you getting out of your setup w/ that arrow???
@tylerelkins96192 ай бұрын
Oh & I'm running the X Vanes
@truoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Idk the speed. I've never chronographed my arrows since I don't have the equipment and I'm not worried about speed. Archer's advantage gave me an estimate in the high 270 fps range, I don't remember exactly what it was. Also not sure how accurate that is. So your total front weight with outsert & field tip is also 175gr? Your arrow is probably faster than mine. The Phase 4 shoots faster than the Hoyt Powermax and it sounds like your arrow might be a little bit lighter.

You punching your trigger bud,that's why your arrows are all over the place
@truoutdoors9 ай бұрын
That's not how I shoot my release. I rest my thumb on the trigger and pull through until it goes off. I pointed out in the video that some of the shots weren't clean and that's going to affect the bareshafts. 40 yards is my limit on shooting bareshafts and I need to shoot it several times to verify things because it's unforgiving and every mistake is magnified.
@michaelvstheworld36809 ай бұрын
Quit shooting groups 30 yards and in and quit ruining shafts. Pick a five spot for target practice that close. Ethics Archery components are the best insert/outsert system, in my opinion.
@truoutdoors9 ай бұрын
I don't shoot groups at 30yd and under. Most of the shafts were cracked from shooting at 40-50yds. I limit my groups to 3 arrows at 40yd but I'll still sometimes clip a nock. And it's a bit unavoidable during 3D shoots when shooting the same target with other archers. I've also heard good things about ethics archery components. Haven't tried them before though.
@michaelvstheworld36809 ай бұрын
@truoutdoors well, then just stop shooting groups and stop breaking shafts. Pick different spots. Also, if you are target shooting with others, then go to a dedicated target arrow and nock pins.
@truoutdoors9 ай бұрын
I'm not intentionally trying to break my shafts... I'm just pointing out my BE rampage shafts broke rather easily when I would clip a nock. I've used other arrows in the past and didn't have this happen. The nocks would crack and I could replace only the nock. I've read alot of reviews of other people having a similar issue. Yes, having a dedicated target set up would be ideal but I don't have that at the moment. Perhaps in the future.
