The very reason I left the concrete profession almost 25 years ago. Can't rely on others most times. Always had the same issues you had. And the ones that were the great finishers it seemed I had to buy them at exorbitant prices out of the bars. But when you have a reliable crew, you are an unstoppable force and it's a great place to be. I switched to a profession that I never have to worry about others, just myself and even though the excitement isn't the same as pouring mud, I don't miss the disappointment at all. But I'm hooked on phonics watching your videos because guys like you, Bugs are what a well oiled machine is in that profession. The rest are flighters... meaning they don't have that love of work or the profession, otherwise they'd be there daily without excuse.

This channel gets me emotionally invested…. I’m not sure why. It’s a wholesome channel that’s different than other YT channels………. When certain people don’t show up, no call no show really irks me!! I know this comment section is supposed to be positive, but if a few of these guys did this to me, they’d be fired. I’ve mentioned this before and someone said that I must not know anything about construction…. Well my Grandfather owned a Construction/Contracting company for 45 years, and EVERYONE is expendable. When you have a job, especially with a license to drive Dump Truck, you have a responsibility to be reliable. This is literally costing Ryan thousands of Dollars. There’s a 1000 guys that can drive Dump Truck, wash tools and stand around half the time for $30 an hour. It doesn’t matter what your qualifications are, if you can’t show up, you’re no good to anyone. Having a good attitude and being reliable if far more important than qualifications…. Because enthusiastic people can be taught anything….

All that matters is how people treat you. People who aren't willing to make time for you,are , EXPENSIVE IN MORE WAYS THAN FINANCIALLY. Those people are a dime a dozen. They take the positive effort and stretch it to a breaking point. The Bible says wipe the dust off your boots of the town that won't listen to the message( paraphrase of course lol). I feel that also can mean don't waste your time after you have treated people the way you want to be treated. If they ain't gettin it, then your paying the price. Your a good human. You have the responsibilities of more lives than most care to even think about. Including the core of your team. You do very well. You make me want to be a better example. Thank you for your honesty. I am kind of the Canadian version of 'Bugs' when it comes to work , but I'm a carpenter. I work. I have to work for myself because "they" can't keep up. Lol. Anyway enjoy your family. @@12tjhart I believe Ryan has said he pays above average... unsure if that means like 10%+, but by the bonuses we've seen, I believe he treats them plenty fair.

@@BattlestarCanada bro every boss will say that 😂 I’m not doubting Ryan but I’ve taken a job with some real scumbags before that hit me with that “above average” line

you have a lot of patience, 3 strikes and they are gone is a rule. no call no show means they dont care about their job or you. get rid of them and get someone thats actually wanting to work instead of making you work 10 times more.

Take my hat off to you. Not changing who you are, even tho people take advantage of your kindness. People don't realize how good they have it with a boss like yourself. I run my own construction company in Australia and it is hard to get reliable workers. Respect to bugs.

Rough times this year for a lot of people. Stay healthy. Do the work u can with the guys u got. Find new workers if u have to… is what it is. Ur a great dude ryan

608 DOLLARS!?!? Why on earth was it so much? As for Darryl, there are no boundaries he won't cross with you and that's a major problem. I guess he doesn't realize how easily you could continue to run your business without him. You are definitely a better man than I am, I would have sent him down the road a long time ago.

Ryan, you should check out Bunker Branding for your merch. They work with a bunch of youtubers. The owner Matt is a great guy and they handle production and distribution. Honestly, a Victory/Demo Ranch collab would be epic.

If I didn't have my own business and family here in PA I would come out and work for Victory in a heartbeat. I've been in the concrete industry for 20 years now, and have a similar addiction and love for concrete that Ryan does!

Hey Ryan next time you ship out big boxes like that, see if any of your buddies have a shipping contract with fedex or ups. If they let you ship out of their terminal you’ll save more than 50% of what you spent in this video. Hope it helps! Have a great day sir

Good idea,, like any company he does business with could do it. After all Victory buys from them and does not look for the cheapest price. and it is not hard to do, just print a label and the shipping company comes and gets the packages.

We know that at least one of the Daryls watch these videos. Maybe one, or both, of them will see Ryan's "disappointment" at their attitude to their jobs. I think it's fair to say that the comments section is losing patience; there's a lot of hostile vibes in here. Anyone can be sick but a phone call is the very least Ryan should expect.
