We also installed a solar port on the front corner for the ability to connect portable panels. It's wired to a separate MPPT and can handle up to 800 Watts. It's a Furrion brand port with adapter to a MC4 connection that will work with any brand panel.

when we hole saw gelcoat on boats we use the bit in reverse first to score the cut so it doesn’t chip the gelcoat around the edges.

Once you have your pilot hole drilled, start your hole-saw by running it backward. I used to do this 30 years ago when cutting door panels and fiberglass boat panels.

Wow, cool system, it makes you think about how you use your rig. I am a former aerospace electronic technician so had played with solar since I bought my first 5-watt solar panel in 1985 when I built a primitive solar charge control from plans in my ham radio magazines, LOL. We ran our whole off-grid passive solar straw bale home at 8,000' in Colorado in 2005 with 940 watts of solar and a 300-watt wind generator. Our '17 Lance 23' TT has 165 watts of factory solar and 400 watts of Renergy ground mount solar because Camp Host sites are almost always shaded to some degree. We only have a Renergy 700-watt Inverter, a second Victron 30A controller (Wire it for 48 volts to reach the sunny area), and two BB Batteries. Even with watching satellite TV every night we still were typically at 67% full on our AH meter each morning. Due to the fact they install the LIFEPO4 converters so far from the batteries with a 6ga wire, I added a second Victron 25 amp battery charger so my Champion dual fuel generator ran more efficiently. If we buy the Grand Design 2670MK like the "Where They Wanders" did I want to install a more modest system of 3-4 batteries so we can have an inverter that will run the microwave. Does it take 2 of them to run the split phase? I don't want to get too complicated, but when we are back east we are almost always on grid power, but out west and in travel mode we stay on internal power. I am willing to run my generator for running the AC with a Start Easy since we typically travel on the shoulder seasons anyway. If we buy the 2670MK we will find you and figure out system sizing from there. I will bring with me two used BB batteries and a new Victon 30-amp controller, even if we use the used BB batteries in the front for the 12-volt RV system like you did for the Wanderers, LOL. He's getting the frame reinforced like we did to ours plus they only take a couple trips per year. He wanted to same setup as ours since the same exact rig just newer. He ended up with one more battery than ours and 5 more Watts lol.

am I correct to say on hot days the solar panels in perfect conditions can replenish power used from 1 AC unit plus regular power consumption, right? which means, if you need to cool down with both AC units, you would deplete those batteries in about 5 hours. So, if it is super hot and humid, cloud cover can ruin your day - therefore you need a generator if boondocking

Why did you go with a dual inverters at 3kva and not just get the 6kva?

Victron don't make a 6kva they make a 5kva but it only has a single 120v output.

Even if I could afford those Battle Born batteries i would not buy them, they are way overpriced for what you get, i personally would build my own batteries or just buy the SFK 300 batteries and be done with it . I'm building a 1967 GM TDH-4519 city transit bus like in the movie Speed . I'm building my own batteries using Headway 38120hp cells but it's taking me a while to make them as i am disabled and unable to work anymore so it's going to take me a while .

All I used to do was Battle Born battery installs, but I have only done 1 the last 6 months. I have switched to Big Beard Batteries as the main battery brand I install, which are cheaper, smaller, and have more features. Battle Born still makes a great battery their just not the only one anymore and they need to do their game or they are going to get left behind.....if I was only building my own personal system I would maybe build my own batteries..... Maybe you can help me I'm looking for someone that can help me install my small solar power system that I have on my box van I need someone in Washington that's familiar with a viltron energy solar charge controller and distributors going into a 48 volt inverter it has 5 solar panels on the roof each are 370 watt for as total of 1850 watts all together. So do you know anyone in Washington state that can accurately hookup this system???
