Ok, I've got to admit that these batteries have a damn good build quality, engineering and design...I'm really impressed !!! Prior to seeing this tear down I wasn't sure if Battle Born batteries were worth the money but this video tear down has convinced me that they are. I have two of these and every time I look at them the thought of cutting them up crosses my mind. Better you than me. Made clicking the subscribe button worth it. I can also say Battle Born absolutely knows their stuff. Even when I have asked them a question they don't know it has been "Hang on a second" and they are back with an answer or someone who knows the answer. I had one fail 9 months into the install and as soon as they reviewed the video I posted immediately dropped shipped me a new battery. I was down less than two days. I have the Battle Borns married to a supercapacitor bank wired to only my alternator and never run out of power. FULL DISCLOSURE: Not a full-time van dweller. I use it as a traveling office.

I just purchased 2 BB's from Northern Arizona solar and wind and added them to the 2 I had purchased months ago to my RV. 900 a piece the best price I have found . They choose the components they use and so choosing a BMS that has that kind of wiring as their specification speaks to the Quality they intended to build into the battery. In manufacturing if you're always trying to save a few pennies eventually it shows in the quality of the product you output. That's why the higher end companies have better reputations because they actually build in quality from the start rather than economy. And again that's not to say that economy is bad but if you can choose a have your gauge wire for a few pennies more and a battery that costs over nine hundred bucks that really doesn't make sense to use the cheaper option

You can buy acrylic sheets and solvent to "weld" the pieces together and build your own clear case. There's a place in Las Vegas called Welch Plastics that does custom acrylic box fabrication. You could bring the old case to them and have them build you a replacement if you didn't want to build it yourself.

hey Will, I appreciate your reviews and how you go deeply - well done! I do want to correct something I think you stated: If a cell shorts, the battery will not continue operating, the whole thing is done. When a cell shorts, the other cells in that bank dump their energy through the shorted cell, discharging the other cells in the bank and sometimes lighting up the shorted cell because of the heat generated. This is where iron phosphate cells are good, in that situation the result is not very "dynamic". One advantage of using many cylindricals is that the energy in each cell is reduced, making an potential incident much less severe. again, good job on the reviews.

I really wish someone did a repair video on batteries like these. Doing a repair on lifepo4 batteries that do not revive with a car jump or 3 stage lithium charger. All these video on reviving these batteries simply focus on the basics telling you to jump the battery with a car, nothing further if it doesn’t work. This would be really helpful because there are many ppl in this situation.

Yup, it was cool to see the individual cells and how they put them together at their new factory. It looked very solidly glued at the factory, no wonder Will had a hard time taking the battery case apart.
