That slid in there like a hot knife through butter, perfect. Another modern art masterpiece Van! Great work!

Was surprised about it myself; it all just barely fits. There is a second part next week, but I can tell you, the inverter works great and changes how I live in the van. Take care! _Van Williams_

That's a beast of an inverter! For me part of the challenge of van life is in learning to live with less, so a 1kw inverter is more than enough. But then I'm from the UK, where we're used to not having energy guzzling appliances. If the numbers on the electric meter are clocking up quite quickly we find it alarming. ☺️

Yes, big literally and figuratively. And unfortunately mostly just used for cooking. Didn't want anything like propane. Calculations based on maximum wattage of my induction cooktop (and water heater) of ~1800W. The 3000VA is ~1800W, not much more than your 1kW. BTW Born in Holland and cheap like the Dutch :) , I fully understand and agree with the 'guzzling' thing. I hope the inverter will have a long lifespan, which I expect, then I will use it in my Tiny Home after my vanlife. _Van Williams_

@@cargovanconversion Check out a KZbin channel called *Foresty Forest* for some great tips on how to make the most out of very little. He uses an induction hob and an air fryer for most of his cooking. Not sure how many watts his inverter is but it's a tiny home on wheels. For what it's worth, he's Canadian.

I love what he's doing (Foresty); he is currently in (Mexican Mountain) Utah. The biggest difference between him and me is age. I will do what he's doing just a bit more moderate and with more comforts, although he can't really complain. Great doggie too :) The slow cooker is still on my list. I wouldn't want his stove in the van, but we have a similar heater. His mountains are 14-15-16,000, mine are 9-10-11,000; I will do some snow shoeing too, but probably only once a year :) One of the few interesting vanlife channels I have found. _Van Williams_

It's a great unit, I been using the same one for nearly 3 years without any issues. Nice install. 👍

Good to hear. It is unfortunately the largest investment of this conversion, while I will hardly ever use the charger and neither will I have the fridge on it. The water heater periodically and only the induction cooktop frequently. I will have some 120V power tools with me, but those can be easily exchanged for the battery type. Did you find any unexpected uses for it? _Van Williams_

@cargovanconversion I have 1,200 watts of solar panels, I use it to run the mini split ac/heat. If I was more clever I would have rewired the mini split to run off the batteries. I also have an induction cook top. Living in the Charleston area I even get away with a 400 watt heater in the winter. I looked for you at the Florida van gathering in February.

Hi JG, I have only 400W solar, but DC-DC converter and 550A Lithium. I could get away with a decent amount of air conditioning, but decided to do without. Rather try to follow the 80 degree and elevation thing to stay cool. Have been to Charleston a couple of times; great place to live! These gatherings are good to meet like-minded people. Have been to the RTR once, and Dade City is around the corner from me, but it is not my 'cup of tea' :) If you are ever in this corner again, leave a message at van@cargovanconversion.com and we'll meet up. Take care. _Van Williams & Joey_
