Isaac chamberlain completely dominated Lawal. Took risks fighting in the pocket and willing to trade with Lawal. Viddal was playing safe the entire fight, was scared to engage and never really pushed Lawal back. Big difference.

Masterclass from Viddal. This is what Boxing is all about: distance, angles and movement. Not streetfighting or neglecting defense and risking getting CTE. The way how he's able to punch and move simultaneously and still comfortably keep himself off of the ropes/corners is mesmerizing. His gas tank must also be insanely good with how he's able to move so much for 10 rounds straight.

Tbf Viddal Riley is right he boxed a perfect game plan. Kept his range kept changing angles and landing shots. It wasn’t the most exciting fight but he got the job done. This is set up for an interesting bout between Riley and Chamberlain because Viddal won’t be able to move around the ring as much when chamberlain is on the offensive but could do well on the counter punch. Congrats Viddal on a great performance

Viddal needs to ditch his dad as his trainer and get a proper one. He’s 26 and his time is now. Don’t get to 30 and realise that you need to switch it up. He boxed well but needs a lot of work

@musajaved9862 Ай бұрын
It's clear he has immense talent. With the acumen and amateur pedigree that he has, you would expect him to make his mark against fighters like Lawal. Yes he boxed well, but seemed gun shy. He's lacking in aggression, fighters right the way to the top will know to invade his space and pressure him with effective aggression. He's still young in the professional ranks but I think he needs at least another fight against someone like Thompson before he challenges for the British title. Moreover, regarding his current trainer, I've always questioned whether he had the experience to coach Viddal at a higher level. I don't think he will be able to harness that potential.

@@musajaved9862I can definitely see why you say his performance came off as gun shy but tbh I don't think that's the case. It's clear Viddal had multiple opportunities to unload on Lawal but why risk exchanging punches when he was clearly dominating the rounds? Doesn't make sense to risk that. I think it takes a special boxing mindset to stay disciplined in that instance and refrain from unloading because of ego... Not many boxers have that ability
@musajaved9862
@musajaved9862 Ай бұрын
I most definitely agree that his performance was one which was extremely disciplined. However, sometimes in a boxing ring there will come a time where you won’t be able to use your superior boxing skills and have to face the fire. An exemplar which rings in my head is Mayweather and Maidana. The object of the beautiful game is to hit and not get hit, but when Viddal has his opponents backed up into a corner , he doesn’t want to unload. He should let his hands go more to build a repertoire of experience in how to pummel someone who is vulnerable whilst keeping safe.
