Suzanne back when I was a late teenager in the farm,my father and uncle started to rebuild a barn that was originally a 2 story 6 separate total rooms for a chicken barn . But in summer of 78 just after it was 80%full of hay some no good punk's in the area lit the barn on fire 🔥.The rebuild was going to be a full length open barn where you could back in from one end with a load of hay start from the back and work fwd .A carpenter crew started building the back end wall including the peak gable end . Just like you guys trying to man power lift the wall up and at the critical balance point the wall was to top heavy and the pivot nails let go and gravity took over and wall kicked out at bottom almost crushed a few guys and dropped 20 ft down off the back end of barn.an auto body teacher that helped us in the summer injured his wrist from the sudden unexpected fall . Also the punk teens opened up the valve on the milk bulk tank,threw open files into the milk room floor, sprayed paint cans all over milk equipment and milk tank,walls .my brother still has that same wall clock in his milk room today that has the remnant paint over spray.Then the gang of punk's went and burned a house down after all of that.

I think it will, so far the new channel is attracting a lot of new faces from outside of here. Honestly I think uploading 2x a day is really what's helping ;) I might get 3 views a month of some of these videos before the switch. I was the first female farming channel for better and for worse. Interesting to see it launched a second round now that there are so many new voices in the mix. You should do it with your original videos ;D I know you've got a STACK! We can re-live all those fun moments with the guy across the river, lol!

hey I'm always open for design ideas! I've never actually gotten to design anything other than my cabin . . . Erik has very specific taste and does not agree with my ideas, lol. But our countertops have labradorite mixed into them, so I DID go buy some giant labradorite polished rock sections to set on them. But I'm definitely open to ideas! How is your greenhouse coming? Such a great idea, I've never seen one turned into nook before.

To lift the wall framing could you use something like a Strongway adjustable gantry crane sold by Northern Tool? Model GD2-4-1 $600. Add a Strongway manual chain hoist for $180. If you don’t have a Northern Tool nearby, maybe a Harbor Freight? The gantry Crane adjusts up to 11.8 feet. Once you are done using it you could sell it to recover 2/3rds of your investment if you don’t have further needs for it. About 20 years ago I built one from some very old AMF trampoline frames held together at the top with child swing brackets. I bought a manual chain hoist from Menards on closeout for $25. One of the AMF frames I was paid to haul away, other was given to me so I essentially got zero dollars into mine. I’ve pulled two Ford 6.9 Diesel engines with the transmission, plus pulled a few other Ford 300-6. Disappointed you are doing less farm content. I want to branch into more comedy with my Boyd The Goofball channel except I need some people to help act in several of them. I have a talent for writing and I can make people laugh. If I could get approval to play Dualling Banjos for one comedy video I think it has the potential to do well.
@This1LifeWeLive6 ай бұрын
You know, the nice thing with dueling banjos is that it's adlib . . . so you could hire two guys to do their take of it and you SHOULD be ok, although KZbin can be weird about that stuff and STILL have people try to claim they own something . . . I think you should give the comdey channel a shot, some of the best channels are those with scripts. My farming content just wasn't keeping people interested, and we are moving away from hay. Christmas trees are not really getting anyone excited and I've had people tell me they stopped watching because "nothing goes wrong". As a farmer, I consider that a success. But as far as content goes, I guess it does make for some fairly boring material . . .

Suzanne you should be wearing hardhats at all times on site for your safety and keep the kids off an active worksite because a building inspector could give you problems for having kids on an active worksite . a better way to lift that wall would be with a 4 wheel tele lift forklifter

The last wall at 4:15 seemed high. Perhaps just camera angle. You were all in the Danger Zone sometimes. Glad you lucked out. The bottom should have been secured so it would not slide etc. WE don't like change. Why change the Channel you have worked so hard at? utube is demanding we watch ads we Don't Want. The Public is already inundated in ads. Amost 25 minutes of every hour on TV there are ads. I purposely ignore/don't buy the product. All that space for 2 people? Only 1 TV? Happy Summer. Glad you missed out on a lot of rain from Beryl.

@marksmotorsportsandfarming73766 ай бұрын
I would not have changed anything as far as channel names since the house build is part of your overall farming experience. If anything, you should have given the name of this channel to the new channel and move the house building videos to the new channel
@This1LifeWeLive6 ай бұрын
I toyed with that idea, but farming is slowing down as we switch into Christmas trees, which so far no one has really gotten excited about. The channel was costing me money out of pocket to continue running, so it was either shut it down or do a massive facelift ;)
@marksmotorsportsandfarming73766 ай бұрын
@@This1LifeWeLive I think part of the reason for the lack of excitement for the Christmas trees is because of how long it takes before you have a harvestable tree. I would think that the hay farming would still get people excited since it's harvested annually even if you don't have as much
@dehavenfamilyfarm6 ай бұрын
Nice work guys! This may not matter to you, but won't you end up losing ad revenue from moving all your old videos? I assume they will all start over at 0 views- which means the tubes won't see them as popular and won't promote them much. I will still head on over to the second channel though 😊
@This1LifeWeLive6 ай бұрын
Yes, that is correct! Currently the only video KZbin has been pushing is the one discussing making $60,000 per acre with Christmas trees, done about a year ago. All the old ones have run their course. But it's interesting that a few early ones that took off are now doing it again . . . so while they WERE not making any revenue, they now have the potential to once it gains monetization :) I am losing views, but growth has blown up a lot more since I began transitioning it :)
