That seemed to be for a sketch. Could have done the same thing in AutoCAD but what is the point if someone just had to draw one line? The hardware used are expensive land surveying devices that can be precise enough for submillimetre measurements.

Looks technologically great, there are two majors points tough: 1 - This level of precision does not make sense to referee a sport played by humans (this is debatable), 2 - In real games, this precision of the offside line has no utility if the frames per second do not enable you to stop the image at the exact right time (and this a fact), On close calls, we still do not know and should accept it and keep onfield decisions. Instead referees are ordered to trust VAR estimations as if it was 100% accurate.

Hey Fifa. All measuring tools have a built in inaccuracy. As an electrician I know that my Volt meter isn't 100% accurate and even if I grab 2 meters from the same manufacturer I might get 2 different readings. The manufacturer supplies a "tolerance" for the measurement and often this is up to 2% with the best meters giving a tolerance of 0,5 - 0,25%. What is the tolerance of this VAR system?

Far too complicated mate. Let's blindy trust technology and be amazed by the precision when hawk-eye indicates a Goal/No goal for 1cm. It is much more simple.

Exactly my point. Moreso, focus is more as to what is closer to the ground. Possibly neglecting a situation say a sting of hair of an attacker puts him offside. I wonder why we would work with "negligible offside".

So why are they not using this system. An under pressure VAR ref, quickly drawing lines taken from an out of focus still shot, from the TV camera's!? Surely by now, we could separate hi-res camera's and a computer drawing the lines?

And then, even at 4k, zooming in from a camera 100 metres away, will lose detail, such as on a bootlace or hair on a player's head. There should be a much greater margin of error introduced for the uncertainty in measurement. It must total at least 10-20 mm.

exact le hors jeu doit être juger au départ du pied du passeur et pas a la réception d'un autre joeur c'est une erreurde baucoups d'arbitres avec système de visionnage que la FIFA utilise sans mon accord ni indemnités car c'est moi qui l'ai élaborer et enregistrer en 2005 et proposé à la fifa depuis 2013 sans réponse et maintenant ils l'on entrer dans la loi du jeu depuis mars 2016 ,je l'ai ais donc assignés au tribunal de Bruxelles et nous en sommes aux conclusions et ils n'ont aucune chance car toutes les preuves de ma paternité sont dans une enveloppe scèlée qui ne sera ouverte que par le juge et lui deul a l'audiance

They literally explained one angle can entirely change perspective, so they can easily be missing the right angle, players can also obscure others which leads to refs guessing, also refs have no clue of where one body part starts and another ends under a shirt which can change it by mm. The next part for me is offsides by mm, are we really saying a few mm is an advantage for the attacker, surely there should be some leeway, mm is ridiculous and impacted by where the ref draws the line and when they guess the ball is struck.

This isn't VAR's problem. Change the laws if you don't want a player to be deemed offside if its a mere mm but bear in mind that whatever you change it to there will be a measurement that is going to be mm one side or the other.

un seul visionneur devant un écran géant avec une vue de tout le terrain dans sa longueur et toute la profondeur de la largeur pour les hors jeu il y a une ligne virtuelle pour vérifier la justesse des hors jeu et autres fautes de plus le visionneur voit les fautes commises dans le dos de l'arbitre et peut zoomer toues les caméras en même temps et peut voir jusque dans les pieds des joueurs ,si je n'ait pas gain de cause c'est qu'il y aura tricherie comme cela a été jusque maintenant l'idée et son concept sont protégés et déposer a (l'OBPI) l'organisme bancaire de protection des idées,dessins,concepts,et protection intellectuelle et c'est une preuve formelle avec la date de dépôt qui dans mon cas est le 02/09/2005 car je savais en tant qu'ancien joueur professionnel les arbitres en allait avoir besoin car le football moderne est beaucoup plus rapide,technique et les arbitres des divisions supérieure ont un certain âge et ne font pas le 100 m en dix seconde,de plus ils ne peuvent voir tout le terrain en même temps c'est pour cela que la limite d'age pour officier sur le terrain est de 45 ans et les visionneurs ne demande pas mieux que de rester dans le sport qu'il ont pratiqués pendant de nombreuses années

la ligne virtuelle doit être visible tout le match elle doit être placée dans le prolongement de la ligne du grand rectangle car c'est la que l'ont conteste le plus souvent et elle ne gène pas plus que la ligne du grand rectangle ;c'est moi qui l'ai créer dans mon visonnage que la FIFA utilise sans ma permition et entrer dans la loi du jeu en mars 2016,je les ais assignés nous en sommes aux conclusions mais toute les preuves sont dans une enveloppe scèlée par la banque de protection et ne peut être ouverte par le juge le jour de l'audience ,je suis donc propriétaire a part entière du visionnage depuis qu'ils s'ent servent officiellement (mars 2016) et la société qui la proposer a la FIFA c'est servie du projet que je leurs ai remis et adresser à la FIFA ils vont aussi devoir m'indemnisé car ils l'ont utilisés sans mon accord ,ni aucun courrier pour me demander s'il pouvait le faire

I can understand calling paint "low-tech", but what's not "high tech" about Excel? It's the industry standard for spreadsheets and statistical analysis. Those fancy "control system" screens you see in the movies are not realistic at all. For instance, hacking involves using a text editor to edit script, like Notepad++. The movies will make you think it requires a special computer with some software with a dark gray background and "hacker font" spitting out a thousand characters per second with a progress bar. Don't get me started on the buzzwords like "tracing IP" or "uploading virus".

I'm sure it does. It seems like they were just inputting data into excel for calculations. I don't believe the entire system runs of Excel. You can actually make cool calculators with excel. Input data into certain fields and it will do your calculations to your programming to fill out other fields with your desired information. Complicated to explain, but if you ever want to learn more about it, google it. It can really help you out a lot in the real world, especially if you're into finance :)

Completely flawed system because you don’t explain how you know exactly when the ball is kicked - Ben Chillwell was running at at least 25kph from an onside position so 100mm travel is 0.01440092 seconds - how do to know at what point Thiago Silva kicked the ball? You’re doing half a job - you need microphones to determine the exact moment the ball was kicked. 🤷‍♂️
