I think the genius of this channel, making people consider cars that they may not haven given much thought to. And doing to using the music and culture of the time just endears us to watching it even more. While I do remember those Chryslers when they were new, they were never a car I lusted after or even considered as being cool. Of course, being a kid, what did I know about anything? Now, having more refined tastes, I can appreciate them for what they were. Big, beautiful, overindulgent statements of what this country was at the time.

I was six years old in 1971 when dad bought a brand new triple black ‘71 Newport. He loved working in the engine and I would sit inside of the engine area between the grill and the radiator. Lol. There was so much space between there!

MOPAR’s 1971 lineup might just be my favorite single year in American car history - styling, packaging, performance and engineering all at absolute peak!!

Why Chrysler Plymouth and not Dodge? Was Plymouth the budget and Chrysler the expensive?
